Just got home from the gym. I'm still only walking/jogging 1/2 mile. Just not up to more yet after our time not going. I finish out the 30 min cardio by biking though. Didn't do any weight machines today but did do the hand bike. The electricity went out while we were there and it was getting really warm in there. I just wanted to come home.
Our son came over last night for a while and it was pleasant as we sat out on the patio and chatted. Sure enjoy him having him visit.

Cajun - Sounds like you had a fun weekend! GFY in passing up the pie! Pecan is my favorite so that would have been hard for me! Oh snakes...euu! Loved your dh's remark about the pink shorts! I have changed some colors like that a few times myself.

Jess/Donna - I try to drink a lot of water and I take a diuretic. I'd think that would take care of the sodium but I have to admit I have recently noticed some very minor signs of dehydration despite all my water. I suspect it is also caused by the new med but not sure as the diuretic can cause this too however I've been on it about a year and haven't had any symptoms til now so that makes me doubt its the cause. Some of the rapid weight gain could be partly sodium, but I don't think it all is. Hope they allow you to just work the hours you want and not keep pushing you to work more. A little extra money never hurts but make sure it's your call. Yes I realize the payments from both Medicare and Tricare haven't been enough and they have been cut even more now.

Wannabe - Thought I'd see how I do this week but if I continue to gain I will talk to my doctor. Can't go on like this or the advantage gained from the lower bs will be cancelled out by the problems caused by obesity!

Bobbi - My dh washes the same way which is one reason I now do all the laundry. When we first retired we each did our own. Of course I mess up now and then myself. I think most men just don't care that much about it but pink underwear will hopefully make him think next time!

Karen3 - Hope you've had a good birthday!!

Lucinda - Hi!! hope you're having a good day! I've never heard of milt but doesn't sound good to me.

greetings One and All. It is cold here in New York this morning. Ah...it feels so nice and crisp and clean.
Bobbi.. you are lucky to have a husband who still gets his engines revved. And I hope you rock his world !

My youngest daughter is camping with my sister and her family all week. So I have no children living with me at home this week.
In my imagination I thought I would take this opportunity to clean out and declutter her room. But now I realize that she might see that as invasive or hostile so perhaps I will leave her messy disgusting train wreck of a bedroom as is.
I get a little sad thinking that now that my dh and I are having some alone time he does not seem interested in spending time alone with me.
I feel lonely and neglected and it is not a happy place to be in...

Morning...There has been a 6' snake lying on the front porch. The squirrels are going crazy. DH pushed it with a broom and it just stays still. Think it just ate a lizard. Finally swept it off. Will be listening for his burp.

Cajun...Good job passing up pecan pie.

Donna...Is Sam using medical marijuana? That would account for his S&S.

Mary...5lbs sounds like you should talk to the doc.

Cherry and Lucinda will be comparing vegie recipes.

Rosey...We've missed you. Have you started the Bad dvds?

Bobbi...Glad the foot is better. Pain pills suck.

Gayle...I saw a "sorry". Remember OOOOOOPS!

Delou...50 years is a Big Milestone. Congrats

Lucinda...my DD had the same bedroom. Where everything was hung up on the floor. Now as an adult her house is super neat. Don't know how that happened.

According to the reports there is an 80 mile long red tide just off shore. A good west wind will drive it in. Can I come stay at your house Donna? Pee eow it will stink. They will have to close scallop season and fish kill will be a mess. Some people are allergic to the vapor. Right now we are just waiting....yuck

Lucinda, so sorry you are feeling this way. Can you go out and do something nice for yourself -- get a pedicure, massage, or just a nice walk in the sunshine? Sometimes those who should love us best do disappoint us.

Hi ladies. K3 there would not be enough room for me and that snake on my porch. He would leave with my screaming. Deathly afraid. What is a red tide? Don't think I've ever heard of that.

Dee like I tell Mary. You can do it!! Are you saying your oldest child is 49 and youngest is still in high school?

Lucinda have you thought about asking him if there is a problem. Sometimes it may be because of job or being tired or not feeling well and you thinking it's you. Sometimes it helps to clear the air and discuss things. Or he's waiting on you to make the first move. Hang in there.

Rosey. Glad you are back.

Mary did you weight gain slow down some with the exercise.

Hi cherry. Welcome.

Gotta go
Tomorriw is weigh in day.

Hugs

Cajun....A red tide is HAB. Harmful aglal bloom that is caused by Karennia breois. Nasty stuff. The snake is not the same one who got in the kitchen last month (bigger). Just a black snake, I don't like them but they do eat mice. Now Cottonmouths they are just mean, aggressive and nasty. Only good one is a dead one. k3

Good afternoon GG's,

Slowly getting back on track (eating wise) after our outings. The first outing, I didn't do too bad ~ gained a little. The next one ~ didn't gain any. It was the damage I did after getting back home and not getting back on track right away that caused additional weight gain.

I think I need to do some research on the restaurant web sites to see what options there are that might do the least damage. DH wants to do more outings, so I have got to figure out some way to deal with this so I just don't totally throw in the towel. I do ok when I can stay home and eat my usual stuff and drink water, but when we are out and about and I can't stick to my routines ~ I end up in trouble. But staying home all the time isn't good either. Getting out helps keep me active.

I spent some time yesterday trying to get myself organized. A web site that had a calendar you can enter birthdates and appointments and such and it will send you a reminder to your email. It has other features that might be helpful too ~ a to do list (should help ~ I won't be searching around for those scraps of paper I write stuff on then lose ~ LOL) and some other stuff. I will check those out another day. I just need to remember to look at it daily ~ make it one of my daily stops like 3FC and Facebook and email.

Cajun ~ good luck with weigh in tomorrow. How is that new little one doing?

Welcome Cherry Tomato ~ look forward to getting to know you.

K3 ~ what did Dash think of your visitor? Do snakes freak him out? What causes the red tide? OMG ~ you're right ~ I did slip up ~ oops

Deelou ~ I like the Leslie Sansone tapes ~ but my knees don't (now). I used to be able to do it and enjoyed it, but now it bothers my knees. Maybe I should try it again and see if I could modify the moves a bit.

Lucinda ~ my mom commented yesterday that it felt cold to her. She's in Ohio. It probably does feel good after the heat of summer. Sorry you are feeling lonely and neglected ~ hope that turns around quickly for you.

Rosey ~ glad your computer is fixed and that you are back with us.

Bobbi ~ how is the foot feeling today? Try not to use it to boot your DH in the rear.

Mary ~ glad you had a nice visit with your son. Hope that weight doesn't go up anymore and instead comes back off for you.

Tam Tam ~ glad that you enjoy your work. That helps ~ even if it is hard ~ that you get enjoyment from it.

Donna ~ I do do my posts in the advanced mode. I used to be able to hi-lite a name and choose the different color. It stayed selected in the little box, and then I could hi-lite the next name and just choose the color that was previously used and still showing as chosen. But now, when I try to do that ~ after doing the first name, when I try to do the other names, a bunch of extra letters come up and the color does not change. I have to go back and change to black, apply it, then un-do it and change the color again ~ for each indivigual name. My wrists got tired. Oh well.

Carol Sue ~ I had forgotten about that birthday thing at the bottom of the main 3FC page ~ thank you for the reminder. Now if I only can remember to look at it ~ LOL.

Nibbs ~ I like your animated little pictures ~ always make me smile.

The sky got gray and it is sprinkling out. Almost time to pick up Corbin from work. He got the job ~ at a nearby local pizza place ~ and started today.

Hope you all are having a good day.

Good Hola, All….

326 posts on this site so far this month! I am SO impressed (and very pleased!)

Tam – I’m happy for you that you’ve had success with your stores. It’s a hard road! Good for you, and good for you to have kept your equilibrium!

Cajun – I did NOT like the cotton mouth story! EIUUUUUUUUUUU, that’s scary! A little ice cream isn’t going to hurt you, and it sounds like you’re really trying to stay on track during the week. I wouldn’t think that a little weekend indulgence would be that bad! BTW, did your son take his NDT test?

CarolSue - I agree with you about the gambling. Of course, right now I’m sending a message to the Universe, but I have to tell you that I just mail a check to the casino and save myself a trip.

Cherry – welcome! What kind of work do you do that’s so stressful? It sounds like you’re very, very busy… and that in itself is stressful! Please feel free to vent!

Bobbi – how goes your battle today? Is the pain less, I hope? Is DH a bit less frisky, I hope?

Rosey – SO good to see you back! We (well, at least, I) missed your sweet, smiling face! I’m counting down….

Lucinda – I’m sorry you’re feeling down… I hope you’re feeling better! We’ve found that a swift kick is effective in getting a DH’s attention… might it work for you? If nothing else, it might make YOU feel better!

Deelou – good ol’ Leslie Sansome… I’m sure I remember a picture of you, and you surely couldn’t have been more than 9 when you got married? You. Are. Wearing. Well. That explains how you can have a kid in high school (yes?) and also a very grown up one! Thanks for explaining that later in the posts.

KarenFL – please, some clarification… you asked if Samson uses medical marijuana (not yet, but the prescription is coming), which would explain his S&S… What is S&S? (Is it snorting and sneezing, maybe?) Sure, you can come to visit, but beware of the fumes of the aforementioned weed! I don’t have snakes, either, if that’s a consideration!

Gayle – I’m glad your DH is interested in traveling. That’s GOOD!

What browser are you using to post? It might make a difference if you use a different one. Are you taking and picking up DGS from work every day? What a good granny you are!!

I had my visit with the surgeon this afternoon… all is very okay! I can’t start any kind of exercise program, even yoga, until the 6 month mark (oh, drat!), but everything looks really, really good.

Not much to report. Life is very good.

Have a good evening! Later, lovelies!

Good morning girls. Today is weigh in day. I'm doing the hasty dance. I'm down 3 lb this week. Even after the piece of cake this weekend. I'm trying to stay on tract during the week when it's just dh and I. Our weekends are not so calm but I still try and when I mess up I jump right back on. That's something that's taken me a long time to learn. I will mess up. If I didn't I would probably never stick to a diet at all.
We have a cold front that came thru. It's 73 this morning and 90 for the high today. Woop woop. I can't wait for October. I'm cranky. There's also a storm brewing but they are saying it may turn and head out to sea or shirt the east coast. Those hurricanes are nasty.

Donna happy happy happy dr released you for 6 months. Any pain at all? I didn't like the cottonmouth story either. He shot it with his pistol. He called last night and I forgot to ask him about his test. I'd asked him over the weekend and he wasn't sure which day this week. I'm hopeful but not sure he's ready for this big test. They are giving it to him earlier that they do most of them. We will see.

Tam and Dee Lou I have Leslie sandstone walk cd to. It's a good workout. I also have Zumba. That's a fun one to do. I like the music too.

Gayle congrats to you for getting back on tract. Eating out is hard for me too but we can't stop going out and being social. Often I have good intentions but lose when the smell hits me. I would like the calender website when you have time.

K3 in your kitchen. I would of had a fit. In my old house I had a garter snake that came in with a crate of potatoes and didn't know. It slithered across my living room and there I went on top of the kitchen table. I never saw which wY it went. Boys tore the house apart until we realized it went out thru the storm door and was on the patio. Hate those things.

Hi to all I have babies coming in with their mouths wide open ready to eat.
Be back later.
Hugs
