A weekend I can hang my hat on...
I ate sensibly and did not deviate... when others tried to coax/cajole me into trying a bite of this, a sip of that, just a taste...I inhaled/exhaled smiled and said '"No thanks. I'm ok."
Ah sweet smell of success.
I walked 5 miles, I went to Zumba on Sunday morning. I am centered and powerful. Giggle!

If you didn't need a pill to get fat, why would you need one to get unfat?

You won't fail if you're not perfect, you'll fail if you're not committed to improving yourself slightly each day.

Rather than aiming for being perfect, just aim to be little bit better today than you were yesterday.

"Anything is possible, It's your choice whether or not you choose to make IT happen."

Zumba was crowded today...and a young woman arrived late to class and stood directly in front of me so that I could not see myself in the mirror.
I am vain and I had a hard time getting into my groove.

I would have asked her to swap places with me, that I needed to make sure I was keeping good form.

Good come back Corinna! I was too flabbergatered to do anything other than stew!
Last night I had papaerwork to complete and a husband who , oh no don't blame my self id issues on dear old hubby.
Well I found myself eating double portion of cashews and grapes... but I stopped before reaching the danger-tip over point of an early binge ...
Hooray! Woke up today still in control and not groggy-food drunk hang over.

Congrats on your control Lucinda!

I was involved in a very minor fender-bender yesterday and stressed about it all evening. Ended up reaching for the Fritos (in house only because of son) and ate too many of them, but not the whole bag. :-(

Feel bloated and gross this morning, but today is a new day...

Oh, Andi... Been there, done that over the winter and what a horrible feeling it leaves. The sound of crunching with another car is unlike any other. Thankfully my husband was with me when it happened or I would have fallen apart. I was driving an SUV and the other person had a small vehicle. Mine hardly showed but a few scratches and the other person's car need an entire bumper and body work done. Big {{HUGS}} for you today. Accidents happen. Thankfully it wasn't something worse!

Andi,
Sorry about the unneeded uninvited stressors.
I broke free from my sugar addiction this year. Fritos are a sugar, salt fat crack-meth addictive substance, ( and why yes, they are yummy!)
I had to admit to myself that I got fat b/c I never could eat just a single portion size of that food. Some people have the discipline to measure out one single portion and eat only 120 calories of a snack.
I could not stop until I felt physically ill from scarfing the snack down.
So now I just don't go there. Ever. Ever...

I don't have the willpower to take out only one portion of Frito's. I use to eat the whole bag too, and then be so sick and mad at myself later. So now I just stay away from them.

Yes, I'm fully aware of the crack-like qualities of fritos and probably haven't touched them in over a year. I had a very good, clean day yesterday (mostly greens) and feel much better today.

I know I need to avoid certain foods altogether as I can't control my portion sizes, and I've done a pretty good job so far of weaning myself from them: Pizza, Fritos, cookies, pasta dishes (lasagna, spaghetti, etc), and any kind of potato. Just need to stick with it even through the stress.

Have been having a good (but very busy) week so far.

Andi - Sorry to hear about your accident. Even small ones can really throw you off, and I am glad it wasn't worse.

I too have sworn off all that addictive (and oh so tasty) food that I know is just not good for me.
It is hard to be a food addict, but I am finding it easier as time goes on and I try to concentrate on how much better I feel without it.
I quit smoking 18 months ago, and to be quite honest that was easier, but that was because I exchanged one addiction (smoking) for another (any food I could lay my hands on!!).

Lucindaarrowspark - You have done, and continue to do, amazing! I am looking into Zumba, it sounds like fun, but am a bit of a klutz. Do you need a certain amount of natural co-ordination?

Jollyjude,
Zumba is taught with either the teacher on a stage looking towards the students or with the teacher facing a mirror and encouraging the class just to dance/march in place if you are having trouble with the steps.
Luckily there are so many youtube how to zumba basic that you can always default to what the youtube shows. Zumba is judgment free and women of all ages and stages come and dance their inhibitions away!

I am feeling strong and on my top behavior. Even when the snooty saleslady at the store was dismissive I did not get a wave of paranoia ( which 50 pounds ago would have set me off on another binge!)

Good morning Ladies,

I had another good day yesterday and am now in the 160's! Mostly ate salads, green veggies and some fruit, but I need to add more lean protein.

I love Zumba and just attended a class on Monday. No one cares if you're new and don't know the moves yet...our instructor is very good and says "just have fun!"

DBF and I are going camping tonight at a state park, and food will be very controlled as we bring it in and fix it ourselves. Hope it doesn't rain!

Lucinda...I hate snooty salespeople. Why show up to work if you're not going to be helpful?

Andi
