Hi everyone another beautiful day today. it actually was to hot this afternoon to sit on the deck. i finished the prayer shawl i made for a friend at our church. when i saw her struggle with her wheel chair i knew just how she feels, that used to be me. i had alot of help toget to now and i was thinking what i could do for her, even tho im alittle broken i still have skills. the thing that ment alot to me was a prayer shawl given to me when i was in rehab. it helped me alot to think a stranger made this for me all tied up with prayers for my well being. so i decided to make this lady one,as a pay it foreward and as i crocheted i prayed for her health and contemplated my journey and hope that it brings her pleasure and ameasure of healing. i'll try and take a picture. steve built a gate today on the wheel chair ramp coming up by out front door to corral the little dogs from escaping when we open the door esp tootsie who is alittle weasel and can squeeze thru anything.lol now they can come on the deck with me and i dont have to worry that they will get loose. all in all a good day. hope your was too. rosey

Quick good morning...
I slept last night! I feel really good. This waking at 4:24 a.m. was about to kill me. I took 2 melatonin about 1/2 hour before bed, slept for 4 hours, then woke. I moved to the recliner and fell back asleep, then woke myself up to go back to bed and finish out my 8 hours. I used to be such a good sleeper, and this has really upset me! Since the strep, then the bronchitis, then Barb's passing... sleep has been elusive. I don't want THIS to become my habit, for sure!
Rosey - how is Pepper? Missy Tootsie still seems to have the biggest hold on your heart... Has Sadie Mae calmed down? I'd like to see a picture of the prayer shawl!
Lynn - good luck with Jenny Craig. It seems we're all in a big struggle right now. Good luck to you!
Nothing to report. I'm glad it's Friday! Everyone, have a good today!

Good morning Goldie's
Packing to go to the camp this weekend. Dh and I are going to do some fishing on the lake. Moms better ds is settled in. It's time I start to get use to this hs and I time again. I'm sure I will but I don't have to like it. Lol
I made a food plan for this weekend and the plan is to stick to my diet. We went to Walmart to get a few thing for the camp and I made sure I'm prepared. Saturday afternoon after we fish for awhile we will be making a trip to the hospital to see our friend that broke his neck. He is in rehab and making a Lil progress daily. They are still waiting to remove the kidney. Hopefully it's contained to that one spot.
Sorry I don't have time for personals. Hi to all.
Hugs
Cajun

Donna, I sympathize as I have trouble sleeping too. Seems to go in cycles and right now I'm having a bad one. I have always slept my best about the time it's time to get up. Melatonin does not work well for me. Valerian gives me HORRIBLE headaches! Recently I have been taking Benedryl, less side affects for me but last night it didn't work. I just got very sleepy yet couldn't sleep.
Today I want to clean out the car and laundry area. I got a lot done yesterday despite sleeping in so hopefully I can again today. It's mostly missing my gym time I'm upset about. Last night when I couldn't sleep I made up my weekly menu plans and grocery list so I got a head start.
Guess there are some positive things about staying up all night.
Trying to decide what to do about my hair. I haven't liked how anyone has cut it in a long time. I'm going to let it grow out a little bit and see what they can do with it. A good cut is a necessity for me as I am not good with working with it.
Rosey - That was a nice thing you did! You're a sweet lady. My first thought was what Lynn said too...I'm glad we are friends!
Lynn - Have you read the Trim Healthy Mama book...it's all the rage right now it seems. I really like it...I broke down and bought the hard copy. Hopefully the price will drop soon but it is a large paperback book and is more than just nutrition/weight loss. Has lots of recipes, deals with hormones, romance, about everything. They are Christians and approach everything from that viewpoint which I love. The recipes use a lot of less common ingredients but you can pick and choose what you want/can use. I'm trying to do a modified version of their way of eating. Just beginning to try their recipes so don't know how they are, but as you read it you learn how to modify your own recipes. There is a forum too. I don't do it at all perfectly..but it is getting a bit easier and my weight is now going in the right direction more now.
Well need to get this day started..I'm off to such a late start..
Oh wanted to add that I am now making my PB mocha frappe with almond milk now. It tastes just as good for less calories! It is actually off-plan for this eating plan but as I said I am modifying and they do recommend almond milk instead of cows milk for those who need to lose weight.

Good evening GG’s,
Mary ~ sorry for your sleep woes. Hope you find a hair cutting place that can give you a hair cut you like.
Cajun ~ enjoy your weekend ~ sounds like fun.
Donna ~ sorry for your sleeping difficulties as well. Hope that you get your old pattern back soon. How is Samcat? How is GM’s new care giver working out?
Rosey ~ I agree with the others ~ you are a very good and special person. We are all fortunate to have been able to “get to know you” here. Your cabbage and sausage recipe sounds yummy. Enjoyed the pics of your grandson ~ cute when he was little ~ a handsome young man now.
Donna and Lynn ~ hope you both are beginning to heal a little from the loss of your sisters.
Lynn ~ good for you with the Jenny Craig ~ catching this before it gets out of hand. How is your daughter doing?
K3 ~ have the storms passed you by now? Wow ~ you sure have a diverse bunch of creatures down your way. I don’t think I’d like the snakes in trees either. And, the hogs don’t sound like a thing I’d enjoy meeting up with.
Bobbi ~ how is your home renovation coming along. How goes the battle of the “heads”?
Emaline ~ glad you checked in. Glad your depression is better. Not a fun thing.
Deelee ~ sorry that you slipped into that black hole. Hope you get back out of it soon. You have been through a lot. {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}
K31 ~ hope those storms stay away from you. How are the Divas?
Had a pretty nice day off. I had hoped to work some more on the continuing education stuff, but procrastinated. Spent some time on the phone with my coworker trying to help her via phone with work issues. Decided that if I had my headphones on working on the education stuff, that I could not hear and help her if she called. Procrastination unfortunately comes too easily for me. Oh well ~ it was for a good cause ~ LOL.
Visited with my DS Jason a bit. DD Sara popped in a minute on her way to work. DGD Maddie is here right now ~ having a snack and giving me a dose of her sunshine
Back to work tomorrow for the weekend. It has been rugged the last few days with this change over. Like every time you turn around ~ you hit a snag. Parts of it have gotten a little better each day and other parts of it are still a great big frustrating mess.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
Take care

Morning ladies!
Doing my usual drop in and not quoting all of you...sorry about that but not my forte..but do love reading all your posts. You all seem to be really close friends which is great.
Had a lot going on recently. New computer installed, new carpet in sitting room which is/was such an upheaval. Never realised I had so many knick-knacks that had to be moved out and then brought back again. Thankfully my home help came and assisted in moving all the heavier stuff. Workmen came and installed all new garden fences and council removed the sliding door I had to the kitchen which I never wanted in the first place! and fitted my kitchen with some lovely easy to use taps.
Hope none of you suffered badly from the storms we have been hearing about...and as for those tornados!!?! How terrifying that must be!
Take care all you lovely Chicks

Hi Everyone,
A tough day today. Would have been my sister's birthday. Every time I get sad, I try to think of something funny. My sister and I had exactly the same sense of humor. We did a lot of laughing together.
I upped my exercise this morning to 1 hour. So far, so good.
Have a great day,
Lynn

I didn't get my hair cut and it doesn't look so good but I'm trying to let it grow out a bit, then will see what I can do with it. Going to a graduation today. It's a beautiful day for it. I ate two more of those disgusting protein muffins this morning. Think I told you about them, not sure. Had them with a couple small slices of bacon which helped at least. I would rather have had something creamy and carby though. I'm not really a "fat" food person I guess.
Hope you all have a nice day.

Good Morning,
Today is my 3rd day on Jenny Craig. So far, so good. The breakfasts & desserts are GREAT. The lunches & dinners not so much.
They give you a LOT of food. I have not been able to eat all of it any day.
I will get weighed next Friday. We will see how it goes.
Lynn
