Default New to the 50's & this site

Hi - I am new to this site & fairly new to the 50's (turned 50 on December 14th). I lost 75 lbs in 2005 & have kept 50 of it off, but the other 25 come & go like crazy. I would like to loose about 50 lbs & I know I can, but lately due to stress (the loss of my father, youngest child turning 18, etc) I just seem to take a few steps forward & a few more backwards = never really getting anywhere. I am committed to making this a lifestyle change & look forward to the advice of all the amazing people here.

Thanks - looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi Angiegram3, I am also new to this site and new to turning 50. Sounds like you are dealing with a lot right now, and could use the support of others to help you stick to you diet during this stressful period. I know that in the past I have been an emotional eater, and tend to overeat when upset. I think it would have helped me some if I had someone to help me keep on track who is also dieting. This forum can help us keep on track and support each other. I look forward to sharing/working on this diet goal together.

Hi, I'm new to this site too. Not completely new to 50, actually 52. I'm trying to make this the last time I have to lose weight. My weight has yo-yo'd 3 or 4 times in 30 years. I'll check in here for support!

Hi skinnypam140! Yes, I know the yo-yo effect. I have done it so many times. Let's work together to make this year different. Wishing you a Happy New Year with success and happiness all through it.

So how are you all doing on your diets? I am doing pretty good so far. Ice Cream is my weakness, but I have been able to avoid it so far. Plus all other sweets. It's only been a few days though. I know it will get harder over the next couple of days.
