Back from Vacation
Well time to get back on track, scale says I put on 7.5 lbs. I know I endulged with all the fruit, and popcorn(my weakness). Now I'm ready to restart the Ideal Protein plan. This worries me that I put on the wt. so fast. I realized my craving was for sugar, not bread. hmmm... well, onward and upward! Time to be positive, good luck this week everyone! Glad to be back.

I know it's disheartening to put on a lot in such a short time, but maybe some of it is fluids too. At any rate, good on you for getting right back on plan! Smart lady, you!
I've been staying away from bread and pasta and have lost 5 lbs in the last week. Of course, I realize it always comes off really fast at first.
Stay with it, ....... Carbie

We're all in this together!
Thanks Carbie for the encouraging words, and yes, it's day 3, and still OP. It's good to be back on the plan, I resisted pizza yesterday, was proud of myself, just crunched away on my salad! I do need to use more recipes, to mix things up, so I don't get bored with the plan. IP is restrictive, but by-golly, it works. I think giving up bread and sugar really helps, so kudos to you too! I'm also pre-diabetic, one big reason I wanted to get the pounds off, and elevated cholesterol too. So I can relate big-time! Keep in touch, we'll battle this together! Good luck to you all!

What is the IP plan, dont want to sound dumb but I need something different. I am trying I went from 220 to 182 so far. But need some other ideas I am 67 and 145 would be enough for me. Have been battling Non hodgkins lymphoma and am in remission since 09 and had to take steroids which gave me a 30 lb weight gain. So I am working to get it off. The only thing I need to work out is exercise. But do not like walking alone outside. So what to do. Any advice would be appreciated. Some breakfast ideas also. Thank you much Hilde

Less than one full week on IP, and have lost 5.5 lbs. could have done better not in ketosis yet, having a few slip ups can delay that fat burner. Need to watch myself, not slip up and stay on track. Use the cappuccino in my coffee in the morning, peach-mango drink and ready to serve chocolate drink for lunch. Love cucumbers, so eat those for lunch. Dinner has been mostly grilled beef, some fish and pork. Hubby is supportive, losing more weight than me, but I accept that. Need to start walking, but air quality bad from wildfires in the state. Think the air is clearing up, maybe a mile tomorrow!

Back to WI since vacation!
ShoBan here! Morning all! My first WI since 8-27-12, yikes. Lost 2 lbs. since last Monday, when I started back on IP. BUT, I had gained 7.5 lbs. on vacationing in Sept. So I'm ready to get back OP. Hilde: Ideal Protein is the plan I'm on, been on since June 5, and lost 51 pounds. It's explained on 3FC, go to Weight Loss Community, scroll down to Diet Central, to Pkg. Meals & clinics, subforum, Ideal Protein. For good explanation of the diet. It works for me My goal is 180 pounds, then I want to adjust to that weight for a couple months, then in January, see if I want to reboot, and lose more! Good luck everyone on your WI!!

Hello to all. I'm new, mid-50s, and trying (yet again) to lose the last 15 lbs. I love this site and all the great information, support etc. that I see here. I am hoping to lose most of my weight using Wonderslim, ProtiDiet foods mostly. But, right now I'm using Nutrisystem mostly as I need to use up the products since I spent quite a lot of money on them. I do feel carbs are my downfall so once the NS items are gone, I'll just use Wonderslim and ProtiDiet type foods.
It's great to see how well many of you are doing on plan and I'm very excited to really start a low carb way of eating. I did a low carb plan years ago and did well on it but just "fell off the wagon".
I guess I can't post a weight loss ticker until I've been here a few weeks but I've just finished my first week and am down 2 lbs which is good for me. So, 15 lbs to go...
Keep posting everyone as your ideas, support etc. are so helpful!

Hi all,
I'm a 50+ er that is working on losing about 30 more pounds to be healthy. I've done about every "diet" there is..lol... and usually GAIN weight on them. For now, I have found MEdifast/Wonderslim seems to be working, so that is my style of eating for now.
I just had a TKR surgery 10 weeks ago, and this weight has got to go!
Looking forward to "meeting" you all soon,
J

The IP laxative works. I take one every other morning and it isn't bad. Tried every day and that was way too much. Don't forget the water - lots of water

I'm brand new to 3fatchicks. I'm 56 years old and started the Ideal Protein program last Friday. I'm already down 3.5 lbs. in 3 days. I love it! So far, the only side effect I had was some dizziness the first two days.

Newbie too
I'm new to this site too. Could you describe the weight loss plan you're on? I've never heard of it. I've been logging in and counting calories on My Fitness Pal since July and have lost 38 pounds. I was down 40 until Christmas! I'm going back to work and getting back on track!

I would recommend that you Google Ideal Protein and read up on it. It's been easy so far.

Hi, everyone! I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic last year and managed to lose 50 pounds in the first half of the year. Unfortunately, I also put on those 50 pounds since having a total hip replacement in the summer... so I'm back to square one with this.
When starting out, I consulted a nutritionist and am continuing to see her every six weeks. After reviewing a food journal I kept, she encouraged me to add protein and put me on a 1500 calorie diabetic exchange diet. After being a calorie counter in earlier attempts, it took me a while to feel comfortable with the plan... but I honestly can say that I feel much better with my carbs, proteins, and fats in balance. My waterloo, so to speak, is artificially sweetened beverages. I need to reduce those and increase my water intake.
Yesterday was Day One of this second round... so I have two days under my belt. It's nice to be able to say that because there were those times when I had to talk myself through it one minute at a time. But I did it... and will continue to do so.
The journey continues...
