DEBBIE, We look forward to hearing from you often. That's ok to answer last weeks questions, please try this weeks as well.

CHERYL: We will miss hearing from you for a couple of weeks but I'm so happy for you that you are finally getting back to Oregon and your family.
Look forward to hearing about your trip and seeing the pictures of your new home. Have a safe journey.

DENISE AND LINDA: Not bad, you got 2 out of 3 right, but I won't say which is which until next Tuesday.Give everyone else a chance to answer.

A beautiful day in store for us, haven't had to run the air for almost a week.
Might need to have some heat on Friday night as they are calling for the low 40's, maybe just throw another blanket on the bed, I hate to start the heat already, even if it is for just a short time.

Did anyone watch" Biggest Loser" last night? I think this might be an interesting show this year now with 3 groups, I'm going to go snoop around 3FC and see what is being said about it here.

Hope all of you have a great day planned and I will check back in on Friday

Hi . . .

Okay I figured out my error -- it should be C / A / B.

Went to the kitchen to get a refill and found the freezer door open and Purrecious poking around inside. Not a fluke either, because after I removed her and made sure the door was closed, she simply popped it open again to continue her adventure. She has also figured out how to open the folding closet doors -- sticks her paw under at the fold and pulls until it opens -- there is just no end to this girl's 'talents' Then, when I came up here, I couldn't figure out what the funny little noise was or where it was coming from -- until I found Frack curled up in a little storage box on the top shelf (right up at ceiling level) of the wall unit above my desk. Not even sure how she possibly got there. And having pets is supposed to be lowering my blood pressure.

Fall is definitely in the air -- the birds are flocking -- driving the cats absolutely insane, of course. It is a lovely sunny and coolish day. High of 18 (low 60's) predicted. it.

Hope you all have a great day, too . . . see you soon . . .

Hi all,

I'm only changing #2 - perhaps 'A' smallpox?

How's everyone doing? Not much new here except we're having some real fall weather. It almost froze last night.

Talk soon,

Hi Ladies,

I'm just dropping by for a visit. Below is a post from a friend from my DietPower.com website. She is in her 2nd year of maintenance & is VERY diligent about her diet and exercise. I just wanted to share this with you.

Somthing to think about:

I’ve often shared the truth:
"I’m responsible for my Efforts (food input & exercise),
But not for my Results (weight-loss, timing and amounts)”
This is a concept that is hard for many of us to truely Accept.

Again, comparing finances to weight-loss,
Like weight-loss is the Reward…or Results of our Efforts…food-input & exercise;
Payday is also when one receives the Reward, or Results, of our Efforts…time spent on the Job.

For most people working in this world, Payday doesn’t come every day.
Although most people must show up for work and put in one’s 8 hours every single day,
Almost never is Payday every day.
Usually, Payday is weekly, every two-weeks, or once a month.
There are jobs where Paydays come on an irregular basis.

Frequently, those of us involved in the weight-loss process, truly believe that Payday should come every day,
or every other day, or every couple of days…and certainly…expect it to come at least once a week.
After all that’s after 7 twenty-four hr periods of putting in EFFORT.
Even very “patient” dieters are usually displeased with Bi-weekly or Monthly Paydays.
Every dieter has difficulty with Irregular Paydays,
but Irregular Paydays are the most common type of payday within the weight-loss process.

We hate the fact that we can’t control when our rewards will come.
We suffer from the fear that if we aren’t paid on a regular, consistent, predictable basis,
that we will not be paid at all.
If one doesn’t much like the job,
AND believes they might not be paid…
they simply aren’t going to work at that job very long.
That is one of the big problems of the weight-loss process.

I imagine everyone understands that most of us who are overweight have difficulty with “delayed gratification”.
We want to eat what we want, and we want to do it right now.
That “fault in us” which caused the weight gain in most of us,
Is the very thing that keeps us from taking off the weight now.
Consistency and Patience involves delaying gratification.
We put in our effort re lower calorie food-intake and exercise,
And ….someday….at a time out of our control…we will be rewarded by weight-loss results.

It’s a simple concept. One we should all be able to grasp and hold on to,
But it turns out to be as elusive as the ball in Harry Potter’s sport, Quidditch.
Even the most successful and experienced dieter seems to start getting restless
if they don’t see the scale drop after 4, or 5, or 7 days of low-calorie food-intake and exercise.

The longer we put forth Efforts without seeing Results,
the less faith we have in the “laws of science”..i.e. 3500 calories = 1 fat lb.
But all scientific studies have shown that when ….over time…
One doesn’t achieve weight-loss Results based on Efforts,
It is because one is under-estimating the calories of their food-intake,
Or over-estimating the calories their activity…including exercise...burns.

Good Morning --

Thanls for all that great information, Lynn . . .

It's raining . . . That's okay since I still don't feel too great anyway. Guess I'll have a stay-at-home-and-do-nothing kind of day. Might do some laundry if I can work up the energy.

Hope everybody else has lots of great plans . . . see you all later . . .

Good Morning . . .

Cool and overcast today and my trees are definitely starting to change . . . no way around it now . . . another Summer bites the dust. I'm still not feeling great -- sore throat, ear ache and just a general malaise. Hopefully it will be gone soon.

The terrible trio is six months old now (and finally seem to have figured out the proper use of kitty litter ) . . . thought I'd share a few new pictures. In the group shot, reading from bottom to top, we have Frick, Frack, Freckle.

Not much else going on around here . . . hope everybody is having a great weekend . . . see you soon . . .

Hi gang . . . Where is everybody hiding?

I was up nursing a diabetic hypoglycemic event from 2:30 to 4:30 and then went back to bed and didn't get up again until almost 10 . . . feels like a whole new day to me, but it will be a very short one, I guess. Hate it when that happens because everything is out of kilter for the rest of the day.

Have a great one, gang . . . see you later
