Thumbs up October Exercise Challenge

Rocking October -- or walking it, or running it....However you exercise, let's get it done this month!

State your exercise goal and track it throughout the month with this supportive group of fellow exercisers. We'll compile our workout goals into a list. As each goal is met during the month, it gets turned RED in celebration.

I'm feeling a desire to up my game a bit. I'm thinking about some travel in 2017 that's going to require that I occasionally get more like 12,000 steps than the 8000 that I generally get now. Last month, I exercised for 1100 minutes. This month I'm going for 1300 minutes. That will encourage more of everything -- steps, strenght-training, and stretching.

My October goal will be 900 minutes of intentional exercise.

Oct1 40 min walk (nice cool morning); 40 min exercise bike PM
Oct2 70 min swim AM
Oct3 35 min (2 mile) walk PM
Oct6 35 min walk PM
Oct8 10 min exercise bike AM, 30 min walk PM, 15 more min exercise bike PM
Oct9 40 min walk AM; 35 min walk PM
Oct10 40 min walk PM
Oct13 40 min walk PM
Oct14 20 min water walk (getting colder! brrr!)
Halfway to goal!
Oct15 20 min exercise bike; 35 min real bike
Oct16 60 min walk PM
Oct22 30 min walk AM; 15 min exercise bike and 10 min treadmill (gym)
Oct23 35 min walk
Oct24 35 min walk; another 35 min walk
Oct29 45 min walk AM; 30 min walk PM
Oct30 30 min walk; another 35 min walk
Oct31 35 min walk

total minutes: 900

I've got a new computer that has a DVD player after being without one for a few years. I still have my exercise DVD collection, so I want to try them again -- adding a bit to my goal.
