I'm afraid that it might spread the idea, "I drained this much, so I can eat more since I didn't have all of it to begin with" type mentality or someone might think they can eat the same foods all they want because of less calories, so they won't turn to more nutrient dense foods. I feel with bypass or sleeve you at least have to think about your food choices since the wrong ones make you feel sick and that helps with long run decisions versus just draining out the calories that will inedibility be in the same food after you lose weight and the device is removed.
