Stayed at 178.8 this morning. I'm just lost as to what is happening but as long as i'm not gaining I suppose it's not so bad.

Penny, I so agree with you. I have lost weight in the past and always gained it back and then some. It's like I lose the weight, am happy with my weight but then go back to eating junk and not exercising. I took a different approach this time, making it not so much about the weight but being healthier overall, not a short-term but long-term goal.

Raining & Penny, I'm trying the same thing. I'm a yo-yo dieter and always gain it back plus some cuz I eat bad and stop exercising. Exercising is a chore, but I need to find a way of making it a way of life.

Danieh - stay the course, I'm sure you'll get a whoosh or some movement soon!

I'm 175.4 this morning. Last time I dieted in 2008, I got down to 174.0 before falling of the wagon. Not gonna let that happen this time.

I hovered at 173ish for 2 weeks. I know it was because I kept eating maintenance calories 2 days a week (willpower failures while cooking dinner, scarfing down an extra 300 calories.)

Yesterday I finally broke through. 171.6 yesterday, 171.0 today! And the 160s are a mental thing for me - "regular chubby" girl territory, rather than "fat girl." Mental gymnastics, rationalization hamster.

Today we pack up and go home. I had my seafood last night and did not overdo it. Actually, I think I did pretty good. My treat was 1 hushpuppy. I would have probably eaten about 3 of them. No dessert either. OMG, they had SO many dessert items out. I had 1 tiny dime size bite of DH's cheesecake. He was so stuffed and miserable and I wasn't. In fact, I had my SF choc. pudding w/lite whipped topping a little later. Just hoping when I weigh in on Monday morning, I haven't done too much damage. I know I have eaten reasonably and not anywhere like before.

leopard, Raining, and Penny - I am in the same boat as you all. This time I am determined to not let it spring a leak and sink, again! I just have to rationalize to myself that eating like a pig will make you one. lol

love2b - I so love Krispy Kremes and would have had a very hard time resisting them.

Jemini - Hi and hope you hit the 160's soon! Can't wait til I leave the obese category on the BMI charts and am just overweight, too!

danieh - I hate the weight fluctuations, too. I keep telling myself, it's normal and everyone goes through having them.

I was 170.8 yesterday, and then 169.4 today. Still not calling it yet. Probably not until I see 169.x for a couple days in a row. Still exciting to see the 160s again! It's been forever!

The wedding for my friend yesterday went great! It was a beautiful wedding, and I ate very well. It helped that they had some pretty healthy food for sit-down dinner. Then I had one glass of wine and a cake pop. Done. That is a big victory for me to eat out like that and stay right on plan with minimal indulgance.

Figured I'd check in with all you guys while I wait for everyone to finish packing so we can go home (we stayed overnight after the wedding).

Danieh: I don't know what's going on with your weight either, but it's not 'true' weight gain unless you've eaten enough for it to be. Water fluctuations are very strange sometimes, also frustrating, but they ARE normal. Hang in there! I tried calorie cycling for a couple days, and for me that broke my stall of 12 days.

Raining: That's what I'm working on, too. Eating in a way that I can KEEP eating after I've reached my goal. A way that will let me STAY at goal. For me, it has to have some very specific characteristics to do that.

Leopardspots: Yep, I don't love exercise either, but it needs to be some part of a routine to keep the weight off. I think it's not just about losing weight, but also being healthier. That whole mindset helps to keep weight off, I think.
And congrats on being so close to your low weight! You'll make 174! And beyond!

Jeminijad: Congrats on breaking through that stall! You're so close to the 160s! I agree that certain decades/weights feel 'different' in the mind. For me, the 150s are 'regular chubby.' Probably because I'm overweight until I hit the 140s.

Love2b: No problem!
Steady progress, slow or quick, is progress. Good work! You'll be out of the 170s before too long!

Katiam: Yep, we need to make sure these boats are sturdy and sea-worthy for a very long time. I think that you did great with the seafood, and I think if you keep indulging reasonably you will be able to maintain. At least for me, being unable to eat out or adjust quickly has been a downfall before.

Hi there! I am currently at 172 lbs, so hoping to get back in the 160's soon!!! My issue lately has been a lack of motivation and being super busy. I am trying to get motivated though!

Okay guys, I was 168.4 today. I'm tentatively calling it and saying I'm in the 160s now (yay! ). Hopefully I don't get a weird bounceback. I'm headed over to the 160s! See you guys soon!

Socialworkmama: Welcome to the 170s thread! Glad to have you here!

Kat, so glad you had a good time. Resisting the desserts would put anybody to the ultimate test. Good job staying in control!

Welcome to the thread SocialWorkMama!

Congrats all around Penny! I am sure the wedding was full of temptations but it sounds like you did great in your intake! Hopefully I will see you soon in the 160s thread

Hi SocialWorkMama - welcome to the thread. Great bunch of folks here for motivation!

Congrats, Penny!!! Hope we all will be joining you soon in the 160's.

Hi love2b, danieh, leopard, Raining, and jemini. Hope you all are doing well!

I was tickled this morning after I stepped on the scale. 177.2! So happy that my vacation did not set me back this time. I think all the walking around shopping (lots of shops to walk to at the outlets) and my evening walks helped a lot!
