Tried 1/2 tsp baking powder; they came out okay. The brownies taste pretty strange alone, but they are good mixed with the other ingredients. Next time I will add some espresso powder. I also cut back the Splenda as we dislike the taste - may have cut back too much.
For the chips, I used Ghiradelli's Bittersweet chocolate chips as they have less sugar than Hershey's Special Dark. They are large, flattish chips, kind of between chips and mini nonpareils, and they are very, very good.
I made little parfaits instead of a whole trifle (there were only 3 of us, including my toddler) for DH's birthday, instead of a cake. I used sundae glasses, and crumbled brownie pieces into the bottom (a little more than 1/3 brownie each), poured sf ff chocolate fudge pudding over and used a spoon to help it flow down between the brownie pieces, let it set in the fridge for a bit, then spooned CW Lite over the top and sprinkled the chips over the top. Then I put back into the fridge until time for dessert. They were really good; I'll be making this for my family's Sept birthday get-together later this month. Four out of six adults in my family are on the SBD, so this will be great. One of the other 2 is a chocoholic, so this should please her, and the 6th will like it as well, I think.
Thanks, mzladyt!
Oh, and can you let me know if I guessed wrong on the brownies? Then I can make them correctly in future.
