hey i was wondering if this is a good diet to loose about 10lbs.
first you should know....
i have a stomach and digestive disorder so there are many food i can't eat such as eggs.
i work 2 jobs as well as go to school so im never home and often dont have a lot of time to cook. i take aerobics and weight classes 4x/week so i eat a frozen dinner(south beach, smart ones, lean cuisine.. whatever looks tasty) b4 hand because i work or im not home to cook.
im a gymnast. im a gymnastics instructor and im going to train soon to become a personal trainer.
if you do respond, please do not comment on my weight and what i want to loose. im 5'1. Im just looking for some support and anwsers, not critisism.
here ya gooo
breakfast: cold cereal and fat free milk( i like rice krispies, capn crunch, 1/3 less sugar frosted flakes, post banana nut crunch... various others)
these cereals give me energy and keep me full and satisfied
lunch: marinated chicken in salad or chicken and veggies
dinner: frozen dinner or marinated chicken with a potato or brown rice..... and some veggies or salad
Jennifer, Mel (who is a certified, experienced personal trainer) and I all gave you great responses on your earlier thread in General Diet Plans.
If you didn't care for our suggestions, I would make one HUGE suggestion and that is to consult with your doctor and a nutritionist, especially if you have digestive issues or perhaps a possibility of an eating disorder that you might not be aware of...and that is not meant as 'criticism' but advice that, as always, you can take or leave at will...
ofcourse i care for people's suggestions. That's why im going to different boards and getting different peoples input. My doctor can't make a plan for me because its a hit or miss wiyth food. i have to eat and find out what makes me feel good because ne with my disorder has certain foods that they can and cannot eat

What type of "intestinal disorder" do you have? IBS? IBD? Crohn's? Ulcerative Colitis?
If it's IBS, then you should NOT be eating highly refined foods such as the cereals you listed, according to this article at WebMD, written by Leslie Bonci, a registered dietician. Assuming your disorder is IBS, the article states you should be boosting fiber and liquids, limiting highly refined foods (as stated above) and take your time eating to reduce the symptoms.
Cutting way down on processed foods, boosting fiber intake, and eating a healthy diet is also recommended for Crohn's.
Sounds like you need to worry less about unnecessarily losing weight when you're already at a healthy weight, and perhaps ask your doctor to refer you to a gastrointestinal specialist, or a nutritionist/RD, rather than asking people who don't know you on a message board (see the fine print in my signature regarding taking advice found on the internet) for advice, but of course that's just my opinion...
i dont come here to be critizied. i;m asking for support and help. no one knows me or my case.. i know what foods i can and cannot eat and therefore know how my body works, trust me... all i want to know is is my plan ok? i gain weight extremely fast for kno reason. i hate candy, soda, and junk food so its not that. I thought this was for people looking for support and anwsers to there questions, not critisism. i love to post on different boards to get as much peoples input as i can, there is nothing wrong with that at all

I guess your definition of criticism differs from mine - I wasn't criticizing (dictionary definition of criticize: "to find fault with: point out the faults of") you - but offering an opinion (dictionary: "a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter.")
That said - in my opinion, if you are 112 pounds and 'gain weight extremely fast for no reason' then you probably need to have your MD refer you to a specialist.
Also, cross-posting (posting the same or similar message in different subforums) is frowned upon here at 3FC, and the administrator/moderators frequently delete for cross-posting as it is useless and confusing for everyone...something to keep in mind...
You said it - we don't know you or your body so how do you think we could say if your plan is any good or not. For us, it isn't but we don't know if it is good for you. You need to get professional help. There is an approved diet for most "conditions".
plenty of people im sure come on here and ask if what there doing is ok. why is this so hard for me? why do i get ganged up on?
also,...
how do i get that weight tracker in my signiture in my posts? w/o having to do it over again everytime?

ewynne,
I do not feel that you are being ganged up on. You may be feeling a bit defensive right now, because you maybe are not hearing the answers that you wanted to when you asked the questions that you did.
I am not trying to be rude, but you laid out your diet plan, and wanted to know if it was okay. You recieved some suggestions here and in another thread about where you could do some changes-adding more fruits and vegetables in place of some of the refined snack foods, and changing your cereal choices to those with more fiber and less sugar. There were also some suggestions about possibly reducing some of your frozen light dinners to some fresher fare some of the time. I don't think that was anyone ganging up on you at all-these were some very good, healthful suggestions. I agree with them 100%.
I think others are concerned about your goal weight though, and I think that they are justified in voicing their concerns. You are already at a good weight for your height, and you are setting a goal weight for yourself that would make you underweight.
3 Fat Chicks is a support forum for weight loss, but we try to help women who are overweight get to a weight that is healthy for their height, age, and frame. Then the goal is to maintain that healthy weight for life, by eating well and exercising.
I think the frustration that you are hearing from others is that you are already at a healthy weight, and you are striving for an unhealthy weight.
Is there any particular part of your body that you are unhappy with, and that is making you want to lose more weight? I know that gymnasts usually have great legs and shoulders from that exercise form. Are you feeling any pressure being a gymnast to be even smaller than you already are?
also - if you go to the thread you started in the Support forum http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...533#post914533
you will see that everyone is not ganging up on you and that people have been trying to help you, myself included.
You have posted the same thread in several forums now and have not liked the answers that people have given you. You seem to have an idea in your head and you want people here to validate it by telling you what you want to hear and are frustrated that people are not doing so.
The reason people question weight loss goals when someone appears to be at a weight that is within the range for their height is that they worry that someone has unrealistic goals or is harming themselves through excessive dieting. It is not a personal attack on you just concern for your welfare.
Due to your health issues we also don't want to steer you in the wrong direction.
Ok, weight loss goals aside, read the suggestions from the previous thread and just don't pay attention to the part where we said you might not need to lose weight. As for the menu above, lunch and dinner look good (make sure and add veggies to your frozen dinners) but breakfast stinks. Keep your sugar intake low, and shoot for a higher fiber - lower sugar cereal made with whole grains and not refined grains. All of the ones you listed have too much refined flour or sugar for optimum health. When we're on a diet we are restricting our intake, so it's very important to make every calorie count. Get the most vitamins, minerals and fibers that you can.
Go to fitday.com and make yourself a profile and insert your daily food and activity and that should show you how much you need to eat to reach your goal. Good luck!

My suggestion would be adding weight lifting to your exercise program 3 to 4 times a week. This will burn fat all the time and tone your body.
As for your nutrition program, I suggest eating more often, every 3 hours (maximum). Also make sure you are eating enough calories per day compared to your level of exercise. If you don't eat enough calories your body will hold onto the weight.
