Default jump rope

I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of shoe one should wear when jumping rope. A cross trainer, runner's shoes, or what?

I normally wear whatever shoes I have on for the rest of my workout (running or cross trainers) but if you are planning like a 30 minute session you'll need something with cushioning in the toes I would think. Sorry I couldn't help more!

Default shoes for jumping rope

found this at the jumpropeinstitute.com:

Choose a pair of cross trainer shoes with ample forefoot padding because jumping rope requires bouncing and balancing body weight on the balls of your feet. This is the opposite to running shoes, which provide the padding underneath the heels.
