Default Help! Calorie counting and not losing..

Last week I started calorie counting and I think I now see why I'm not losing. What do you all think? Am I not eating enough?
For my weight (172) and height (5'5) I should get around 2300 calories per day to maintain my weight. Subtract 500 to lose. So that would be 1800. Well, on average I'm only getting 1300 - 1500 calories per day. And I'm not even subtracting working out and nursing from that! So what do I do? Stuff my face with more food? I feel like I eat all the time but I guess its not good enough. I could definately use some advice! Or if someone thinks I'm wrong about how many calories I should be getting then I welcome that too?! Thanks!

Thats very interesting!! Thanks! So I guess that means I need to eat less calories still... I'll give it a shot. It couldn't hurt!

Bootiegirl28,

In my opinion, I dont' think you should decrease your calories anymore. If you are nursing that is pulling a lot of calories that you are not taking into consideration. I think your body is in starvation mode and holding onto all the food you are eating. If you want to try to lower your calories, go ahead but you may want to play around with it and try to up them for a week or so and see if that helps first. I think nursing is supposed to use 500 calories a day (could be wrong about that but that's the number that comes to mind) so you are only getting 800-1000 calories anyway (and that's before exercise). You should NEVER go below 1200 or your body holds onto every bite you eat because it thinks it is starving.

Just my opinion, Good luck!
