My name is Sarah, and I've been doing phase I for about 12 days so far. I don't seem to be losing any weight at all, and my clothes don't feel like they are getting loose, but I've been sticking to it anyhow.
I started the SBD for a few reasons:
1. I need to lose weight (currently I weigh 240 and I'm only 5 ft. 2 1/2 inches!!!!). This is the heaviest I have ever been.
2. My periods are very irregular, and I'm hoping that losing weight will help.
3. Depending on which Dr. you listen to, I may or may not have PCOS, and I understand a low-carb diet helps women with PCOS.
4. My husband and I would like to have children, so it's my hope that losing weight and regulating my blood sugar will help to regulate my periods and help us get pregnant.
I go to a fertility specialist on June 28, so I'm hoping he can help figure out if I actually have PCOS or not.
I have not cheated at all so far, although I'd really like to eat a bunch of carbs. I'm hoping some of the recipes here will help me stick to it (looking forward to mock french toast tomorrow a.m.).
I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!
I am dealing with some of the same issues you are and I have had really great results on the SBD. I am also seeing an RE for my infertility issues. I DO think that my last pregnancy was a result of losing weight, I should have stuck with healthier eating after having him but I didn't. I am currently taking meds to help with the PCOS and regulting blood sugar. Together with the SBD it's been amazing the differences I am seeing.
for not cheating, it's really hard to get past those cravings. I cheated this past weekend and I gained 3 lbs. I lost the weight again but I figure if I wouldn't have cheated, I might be 3lbs closer to my goal instead of at the same place I was a week ago.
Hi Sarah welcome to the beach. I have only been here a week and these chicks are fantastic for helping you figure out different things. And the support is wonderful!!!
