Question Help!!

Could someone please shed some light on what is happening?

I started Atkins on Monday 1/03/05. I know that the initial weight loss is water and by Wednesday I had lost 4lbs. Now this is the part I don't like. Every day since Wed I have gained 1lb. My current weight is 1.5lbs from where I started. I have not changed my way of eating, have not cheated and have been looking out for hidden sugar. Is it possible Atkins is not the program for me? What am I doing wrong?

Include amounts and what you're drinking in that. As you said, that initial weight loss is just water so don't worry about the flux. Make sure you're eating right (low carbs and not too many calories) and drinking plenty and your body will sort itself out. Remember, that it's not what happens in the course of a few days that matters. It's what happens over the course of several months or years as you lose weight, learn your body and then maintain your weight loss.

Breakfast is usually two boiled eggs with 2-3 pcs of bacon, coffee with nondairy creamer and equal.

Lunch is usually one to two beef patties with a slice of cheddar cheese with 1/2 cup or less of broccoli

Dinner is usually steak, salmon, ground turkey or chicken with a cup of broccoli or a small salad (lettuce cuccumber scallions)

I've varied the eggs with egg substitute once or twice and at night for desert I will have a sugarfree popsicle or 1 pc of sugarfree candy.

A couple of things: Your calories may be a bit high. And are you drinking anything besides coffee? You must have plenty of water or you will retain it!

I do drink water, crystal light and an occassional diet soda. I was reading some of the food log posts and I think I'm eating way too much. I was forcing myself to eat more because I know I have a tendency to skip meals if I'm not careful. I'm going to start cutting back and drinking more water.

Thanks

alot of us use www.fitday.com to keep track of our calories and carbs. You might want to plug in a days worth of menus and see what comes up. (its free)
