The first thing I would suggest is reading the book. Then read the FAQ thread here and also going to the atkins site and reading up there... The more info you get, IMHO, the more likely you'll succeed and won't make mistakes (like I did
).
Changing ones habbits is not an easy thing to do. From what I've learned and read, its best to make changes slowly. Yanking things out from folks never works, we can all testify to that can't we lol. Slow is good. Stuff like, if your a fast food junkie, well stop going to fast food places, try cooking what you like at home instead and tweeking the recipies to be more on the healthy side. I don't mean instead of a burger throw some tofu on their plates
How about a chicken burger and some home made baked fries...you get the point. As for your eating with them, just eat the burger and not the fries, have a plate load of atkins friendly veggies
ckn wings, deviled eggs, etc.
