Default sugar withdrawl

I feel like it's kicking my butt, hehe, today I quit sugar, last week I quit coffee.. all of this to lose weight. I tell yah, if I could lose weight while having sugar and coffee I'd be in heaven. So in my struggles to lose weight I've resorted to a low carb diet again, I know it's healthy for my body (I have an allergy to wheat and sugar).. but it's so HARD! I just had to complain, I feel foggy headed, I can't seem to put together a coherent sentence, sentense, I can't even remember how to spell! I decided to go back to South Beach (which I started in the spring, but promply quit), and today is day 1 of phase 1. Just 13 days to go! okay, I think I'm done complaining.. for now...

Good for you,Swimgirl. I haven't been able to give up my coffee. I use aspertame or sweet-n-low and I measure out 1 tsp of creamer per cup. I know it'd be better to give it up but I figure one battle at a time.

1 day down, only 13 to go!! You can do this!! Is coffee/caffine a trigger for you? What I mean is, if you drink say a tiny ammount of a beverage with caffine in it do you feel an urge to have alot? If not, I usually find that evena small ammount of acffine is enough to kick a headache. Maybe 1/2 of a diet soda or a fewsips of coffee? Maybe Im wrong, but it seems to help me when pain relievers wont. KEEP IT UP HON, YOU CAN DO THiS!!

Hang in there Aimee! You can do this! I had terrible withdrawals at first too. At times I thought I was going crazy! But I promise you it will get better. Once you get past the withdrawals there will be no stopping you!

The withdrawl stage has ended, and now I'm working on the whole "cleaning out my system" stage.. this one sucks. I guess I've been eating more veggies, because I find it's giving me a laxative effect... with horrible stomach cramps. It's weird how fast I'm flying through all these stages, I'm happy.. last time I quit sugar, caffiene and wheat I had a withdrawl headache that lasted a week. I did "cheat" today, I had carrots. heh, who knew carrots would turn out to be a cheating thing.

AmyJo - Thats good advice... usually I can get a headache to go away with caffiene, but I've been trying to avoid that, especially since this last headache was from sugar withdrawl. I quit coffee last week, and figured a few minor headaches would be better than a week of pure ****. lol Oh, and sex can definitely help with some bad headaches

SO!!! 2 days down, 12 to go!! And I'm feeling like I can take on the world (from my bathroom ) Thanks everyone

-Aimee

Howie - I've given up everything, my morning coffee, my morning muffin, my japanese food.. and my soft drinks. The soft drinks is the hardest part, and all this food prep is a pain in the rear.. but I know I need to in order to lose weight.

Part of the problem I have with coffee is the cost.. I never want it when I'm at home (where it's cheap), but always at work. That adds up, infact, it turns out I used to spend more money on coffee than on my RRSP, thats just sad. But maybe now I can invest more! Another thing, I find if my body "needs" something like coffee, or sugar, it just makes me want to quit it more, because I don't want to have to depend on anything to keep me awake. That comes from my mom who quit coffee in the summer, and is always encouraging me to quit sugar. Ooops, it's late and I'm babbling..
