Hi Ladies:

How is everyone? I sure have missed you all! Don't know what has gotten into me. I have read all your posts, but just don't feel like posting. Guess that I am in a funk. Now, when I saw my old buddy Mrs. Julie posted......then I said.........well, now I just have to get on this band wagon! Missed you Jules!!! Glad to see you back. (((JULIE))) I quit smoking in January too Julie. On the lst of January as a matter of fact. My last cigarette was at 8:30 a.m. on that day. I tell you, I know exactly how you feel. Cravings are better, but they are still there. And yes, I sure did gain weight too. 25 pounds to be exact. And guess what? I don't care!!!! LOL Seriously though, I rather be heavier than smoking. I can breathe better now. When Rick died, that is all I did was smoke and smoke and smoke. But, it is so good to see you back Julie. I agree with Sharon, it would be great that if we all could catch up on the ICQ again. CJ, Sandi, Gail, Jules, Judy, Sharon....we had fun. Just trying to stay on the darn thing without getting booted off!

JUDY - I hope that you and Cal are doing well. Thanks for taking out sometime and writing me an e-mail. I pray for you and your family. We all love you Judy. (((((JUDY)))))

JO - Glad that you had a good trip. You are doing so well in the weight loss department. You go girl! I am so very proud of you.

SANDI - Can't believe that you started a new thread! Way to go. And what is those foot prints that I see on your post? LOL How in the world did you do that? Everyone, Sandi and her husband Spence are coming to Detroit to see me and the girls next weekend. Can't wait to see you and Spence again Sandi. Love you!

GAIL - I am planning a trip to see my niece Mary in Olympia. Can't seem to find the right price on an airline ticket yet, but as soon as I get one I am going to Seattle! I heard that it's nice over there! I was hoping that maybe you and I could hook up. I would love to meet you! It would be nice. Mary tells me that it is so beautiful over there in Washington.

CJ - Loved the picture of your new house! It really looks so wonderful!

I haven't been on the Thin Group for such a long time, everything looks so different. Have to get back into the swing of things. I really would love to get some of this weight off that I did gain. I have been working alot. Double shifts, 16 hour days, or 12 hour shifts. Very exhausting. I guess that I am drowning my sorrows so to speak. The girls have their busy lives, and don't feel like coming home alone. I guess that I have to start something new. But it is very difficult for me. I just so use to Rick. Just hanging around with Rick. The man of my life of 21 years just vanished. It is a hard adjustment. Girls, I am going back to school. In fact, I just registered at the local community college for computer classes I am starting in the fall. I am burnt out as a nurse. I have to force myself upon the dreadful job. I am really looking forward to going back to school. I am looking into becoming what is called a Network Specialist. Working with computers. The pay is great. In fact, more than I make shoveling, you know what, cleaning up throw up, taking abuse from patients and their families. The nursing shortage is big time now. Don't receive any respect from doctors or families. Like the hospital is a hotel. But whatever......never too old to go back to school. Something to look forward too. In fact, I have three days off and I am enjoying it. After I am typing this, I am going to rent a machine to clean my carpet. LOL Now that is really exciting eh?? I love you all!

SHARON - I miss you girlfriend. Thanks for your e-mail. I love your e-mails! You are doing so well too on the weight loss Sharon. I am so proud of you! I owe you an e-mail. I will answer you soon! Love you Sharon!

Well......I will try to check in more. I need some pushing girls to loose some weight! Bug me!!!!!!!!!! At least I would like to loose 1/2 of what I gained. I feel it in my stomach!

UGH!!!!

I Love you all. Hello to everyone that I missed! Sam, Trish, Ginabob, May Kay, Zoe, Carolyn, everyone.....

Love, Chrissy

P.S. I hope that this goes through.....spent alot of time doing this!!!

Whew! I was #29 and didn't even realize it! Good thing I didn't have to start the new thread. Who knows where it might have ended up!!

Did you guys read the message from the sisters about the financial trouble they're having? They might have to shut down the boards!!! What would we do!?!?!?

Last night Rich decided to do a quick plumbing job. Finally around 10:30, he decided the rest would have to wait until tonight. Well, at least it's rigged so we could take showers and use the bathroom! But there are several buckets we hope don't overflow during the day today if you know what I mean.

Jo meanwhile is being BAD!! Don't know why but I just cannot get motivated. I know I'll have a gain at weigh-in and am dreading it but it doesn't stop me from shovelling in the food. Why am I doing this!?!? I have a little over 3 months until Las Vegas and wanted to be able to wear shorts and my bathing suit but it's not looking too good. Literally. I wanted to be at goal by then but that would mean another 20-25 lbs. in 3 months! Not gonna happen.

Oh well, one day at a time, I guess. Actually one HOUR at a time is more like it. Big birthday cake sitting in the back waiting to be served at 9:30 and I can hear the stupid thing calling to me all the way up front here.

Have to run. Dreary and gray today and I really really need some "real" coffee instead of my usual decaf today. Something about being awake listening to drip drip drip all night long....

Have a great day!
Much love, Jo.

Thumbs down

Good Morning everyone,
I am just so proud of myself for starting this new thread. I am really not very good on this thing, so for me it was a big deal.
It has been very hot and humid here but I am so glad all the dreary days are gone for a bit. Just seeing the sunshine makes one feel better.
This is my last week to work 5 days daytime hours and I am one happy person. I have said before ,I don't know how you gals that work fuul time and have to cook and clean etc. do it. My hat goes off to you all.
I have missed lots of time at the gym too since I am on these hours but I do go as much as possible. I got on the scale for the first time in maybe a year and I see I am up 2 pounds. But I was told it may be the meds I am on for my panic attacks. I will not worry about it as I am still under goal for w.w. and my clothes still fit like they did.

Carolyn CH.....Happy Birthday. I sent you an email card but must have the wrong address as it came back. Enjoy your day.

Julie......How very very very very nice to have you back here with us. I am so proud of you for quitting smoking. Hope your birthday was a good one too. When those kids grow up it sure does make one feel older.

Sharon.....Your wine tasting trip sounded nice. You are lucky you were able to lose weight after all the wine you had. LOL Keep up the good job. Soon you will be where you want to be.

C.J.....Your retirement home looks absolutely beautiful. Where did you get the picture sand the plans for it? It has given me some ideas for the future.

Gail......Now that your holiday is over I know you will get right back on track. Sorry you had such a headache. It must have been bad if you canceled out a shopping trip with your daughter and granddaughter.Maybe too much caffeine?????

Jo.....Yes it could happen. I mean you losing 20 -25 pounds before your Vegas trip. Think positive and it could happen.

Ginabob....Glad you enjoyed your trip to Dallas even if you were ill part of the time. It is always so nice to meet with old friemds and catch up on what is happening.

Chrissy.... I just played around and somehow got them feet going across the bottom. As you know I do a lot of clicking here, sometimes even when I shouldn't!!!!!LOL Can't wait to see you and the girls on the 23rd.Let's hope the weather is good and we can go to that lake thing we went to when I was there.Am looking forward to seeing you all. Love you.

SlimGram.......Welcome to the group. It may take you a while to get to know all of the gals here, but they are all a special bunch and will get you motivated and on your weight loss journey. Hope to see you post again soon.

To all who have lost some pounds and to those still trying........Just keep on hanging in there and it will happen.Love to all Sandi

Well that's just great!! I was reading the replies on the old thread and managed to reply to that one. Sheesh!!!
Here is my post from that thread.

Hey Girls,
Well I finally got everything caught up and added three more projects to my to do list. I come in this morning and the power is out. We are on the generator (so all of our banks don't go down) but a lot of the work stops. The lights are off in my office and I am working from the glow of my screen and a window. The window isn't helping much because it is cloudy out. The strangest thing for me is the eerie quiet of not having everything on. So it's been a fun morning. Two hours so far with no A/C or lights and no end in sight. It's an adventure. I am doing really well this morning. I decided to step on the scales and lo and behold I had lost another lb. That puts my stats here : 244/221/170/23/{51}. Woohoo! 2 more lbs and I hit the 25 lbs mark. I think I will throw a little party for me.

Chrissy - It's good to hear from you. I am sure you will get back on track weight wise in no time. Congrats on quitting smoking. I know that must have been hard to stick to with everything going on. Good for you! I found a great airline ticket place. It's called Orbitz.com. I got a sneak preview into it when it first started. I've already found some great deals for my trip to NYC. It might be worth a try for you.

Sandi - Good job on starting the new thread. I just never notice what number we are on until someone else starts the thread.

Zoe - Congrats on the lbs down. You are sticking to it and doing a good job

SlimGram - Welcome. I am sure you will love the list!

Gail - Hope your headache is gone. I know they can make life miserable.

Julie - Welcome back. Don't worry. When I started back here after my little break I had gained over 20 lbs. Now I am back where I left off. You can do it too!

Sharon - Hope you had fun at the Olive Garden. We don't have one hear but every once in a while my singles group travels the 50 minute drive just to go eat there. It's worth it. The food is great.

Well I better get back to reading my documentation by candle light.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hey, I'm not really new to the site but I'm new to the forum. I really need the motivation from others trying to lose weight. I gained about 30 pounds in 6 months time (that was 1 1/2 years ago) and I'm still struggling to get rid of the excess weight every time I try to lose weight I gain about 5 more pounds. I would be extremely greatful if you could help me. I started out at 110 now am 147 & I don't understand why

Hello everyone,
Back from my meeting and some good news. Down 3.6 pounds this week. YEAH!!!!!! I surely didn't starve. I had forgotten how much food you actually can eat on WW when you do it right. The walking helped too I'm sure. I bought a new pair of shoes last night but instead of bying good sensible walking shoes I had to buy a cool pair of Skechers I have a feeling that I'm going to pay for this one big time.

Sandi: Good job on starting the new thread. I geuss when Queen CJ is away all the little cats get to play.
Gail: Hope that your headache got better and didn't spoil your whole day.
JO: Lots of this does seem familiar. When I quit smoking everything got out of control.I am comfortable with WW and am starting to memorize points again.Hope that you told that cake to call someone elses name.
Slimgran: Welcome to a great group. We are always here for a laugh, a hug or even a kick in the pants if you need one.
Chrissey: Boy did I miss you. How are you and the girls doing?? I see that they are getting on but it is taking time. Going back to school is a great idea. You have been needing to get away from nursing for quite a while. Beside it really does us good to stretch our brains. I'm actually glad that you are still having cravings too. Course it doesn't help that Niles is still smoking( and the same brand too)
Gina: Hope the lights finally came back on. Sounds like you had quite an adventure.
Well ladies have to go make lunch for tomorrow. The girls want to have a picnic lunch so I volunteered to make a big tossed salad. Smart huh? Take care all. Love, Julie

Ahem....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHARON!!!!

Now if I did that right, it should stand out. Still haven't figured out this tag thing but wanted to wish our own Ms. Sassy and Happy Happy Happy Happy B-day!!!! Woooo Hooooo!!!!!

On to other things. It's gray and rainy with the edge of Hurricane Allison passing over us today but at least it's Friday. Rich has my home 'puter here at work for some doctoring *grumble* but I hope to have it home over the weekend. Not that I ever seem to find the time to get on it. Was hoping to get into the garden tomorrow but it doesn't look like the weather's going to cooperate. Sunday night a bunch of us gals are going to see Eric Clapton in Philadelphia so I took Monday off. Hopefully, I'll get some stuff done then.

I'm still obsessing about weigh-in tomorrow morning but I'll face the music and move on. I think my wild eating binges have passed. I hope! Maybe it's just PMS or something. "That time" is due soon. I've really got to buckle down. I have about 15 people who've pledged money (most of them pledged $1 per pound) for me to lose weight by July 4th. It would be quite embarrassing to owe them money! I think I started the challenge at 171 and am hoping to cost them at least 6 or 7 bucks by July 4. Then I get to plan ahead and get into the Labor Day challenge!

Tatter-baby, welcome to the forum! We all understand weight issues here. Please come by any time and post often. Love to hear from you!

Julie, congratulations on the loss!!! Way to go!!!

Have to run. Time to work. Still hoping to hit really big when I go to Vegas so I can call in here and say "Uh, boss, I won't be in today. Or tomorrow. Or ... ever!!" Ah, wishful thinking.

Have a great day!
Much love, Jo.

Hi!

It's hot and muggy here in PA, and our air conditiioning has been broken for the last three days! Yuch! Luckily, it supposed to be fixed today.

Not much new to report here. I've been working hard and getting annoyed with an unappreciative boss. TGIF!

I've lost 1.5 lbs. this week for a total of 16.5. My son's wedding is four weeks from tomorrow, and I'd like to lose a total of 25 lbs. by that time, so that's another 8.5 in four weeks. Let's hope I can do it!

Happy Birthday, Sharon! Hope your day is special!

Julie, congratulations on the 3.6 lbs. Keep up the good work!

Jo, if you put your mind to it, you'll be able to lose at least 20 lbs. in the next three months. Keep trying! I bet you already look good in those shorts!

Chrissy, nice to hear from you. You sound tired! It's never too late to go back to school. Good luck to you!

Slimgran and Tatterbaby, welcome to the group. We look forward to hearing from you often.

Ginabob, 23 lbs. That's great!

Sandi, I don't think anyone called you a BRAT for starting the thread! I bet those two lbs. will be gone the next time you weigh yourself.

Angel-eyes, it sounds like you had fun running in the sprinkler with your kids. I can't remember the last time I did that!

I've started using WWOnline to keep my food journal. It's really easy to use. You just list the food, and the points are added automatically. You can keep progress charts there. I recommend that you check it out.

Hope all of you have a great weekend.

Trish

Hello everybody!!!

My goodness, it's been a long time since I've been in here!!! It finally slowed down at work today and that helped me sort through the 450 e-mails that I had in my mailbox. Yes, it's been a long time since I've done anything on the computer other than work. I do miss all of you!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHARON!!!

Sorry for being so brief, I have to run into a meeting in a few minutes!!!
