Hi ladies,

Barb - hope you have a good day off tomorrow and have time to chit chat with us awhile.

Cristi - Oh my goodness! Your poor DS!! You know that had to hurt like heck, and yet he was loyal enough to stay at work. He oughta get Employee of the Month for that! Did you get any good buys at Sams?

Marti - hope Jhanai is excited about writing to my niece. Dani is a good kid. Didn't have lunch with my friend today. She had a doctor's appt., so we just talked on the phone. How's grandpa? Ok, I hope. Yes, I will buy The Passion. I haven't seen it yet, but wanted to wait until I could watch it in my own home and not make a fool of myself.

Hi to Katy, Jen, Shanna, Sue, Susan, Mindee, Julie, & Angie. Also anyone I may have left out accidentally.

Guess what I did tonight???? I learned to operate the riding mower!!!! I tried it when we first moved out here, and felt very uncomfortable, but now I don't. Actually, it was fun, but I wouldn't want to do the whole mowable yard which is a little more than 2 acres. My dog, Molly, didn't like it at all, and followed me, worried. What a sweetie!

TTFN,

Default Hey gals!!!

Well it's about 10pm here and I just got in from the hospital....Tonight was tough I lost my first pediatric!!!! I was doing cpr and it just wouldn't work, we had to throw the towel in...poor little 6 year old boy was hit by a motorcycle and came in having severe seizures.....I felt so bad for the parents..... You never really know what to say.......

On a better note, I had my annual review today at work and got very good reviews from my boss....She said that I am exceeding my job title and she is very impressed...she said I will be getting a nice pay increase next month when our raises are applied!!!! So I was happy about that, it's always nice to be told you're doing a good job!!!
Anyway hope everyone else had a great day and I'll check back in for personals tomorrow when I have a bit more time to catch up with the posts!!!

Have a good night

Julie

Hello ladies.....I'm back---again.

Jana--Jhanai told me to tell you Thank you again for finding someone. Then she told me to get on here and tell everyone that she wants to start with just one penpal! I told her that writing isn't a bad thing and it would do some good to practice...in her writing, her penmanship, and communication. But...I told her that I would. So she'll start with Dani. She has already started a letter. She told me to let you know (or Dani) that it may be awhile before she mails it because she wants me to read it first. But also wants me to give you her address in case Dani wants to go ahead and write. I will PM you her info. She really liked how they have some things in common.

Julie--Glad you got a great review!! I miss having reviews!! When I worked at Sony....my supervisors were so nice in the way they worded things. In the almost 4 years of working there, I've had 4 different supervisors. They all said the same thing: That I was VERY good with my communication skills and never hesitated using them. But I always got the most out of my raise that was available...so it couldn't have been to bad. Happy to hear yours went so well!!

Evening to the rest of you ladies!!

Having a uneventful evening. Been going through photos to see if I can find any to do a page in scrapbooking. Of coarse I have TONS of photos...but there are just some that don't inspire me to do a page....if that makes any sense. Just a photo that would belong in an album.
I did find a photo of me when I was 10. I tried scanning it and it was so small....then I put it on Photobucket and tried seeing how it would look here when I posted....and it was HUGE!! The photo itself was small but the area around it was too much!! Need to learn how to fix that. I wanted to put a photo of me and one of Jhanai next to each other and have you see if you can see the resemblance. Some day....I will figure it out...or get James to help me!!

Ok....I'm rambling on here. Talk to you later gals!

Cristi--How in the world did I miss that your son hurt himself??? How thoughtless of me! I do hope he's ok! You have one devoted son to stay and finish up the job!! Me....I'd be crying like a baby (a loud one at that). I'm glad to hear that it wasn't too serious that he had to be admitted to the hospital. I'm blowing him a kiss for his booboo! (won't he like hearing that?)

Rk--Did I miss something??? Are we calling you Katy now? I can do that. I suppose with all the other Katy's not posting much it's doable. So when are we going to meet another Marti?? (that's female!)

ok...now I'm off.

Happy Hump Day!

Julie - so so sorry about the 6 y/o who didn't make it. That would haunt me for a long time, I think. At least you know you did everything you could to save him. I didn't even know the boy, but it makes me teary just thinking about him. On the up side, YAY for your good review! And the raise will be nice to have, too! You ought to buy yourself a nice gift for all your hard work and accomplishments.

Marti - I'll give Dani Jhanai's info and leave it up to her if she wants to go ahead and write, ok? She probably will, lol. I know what you mean about a photo having to be just right to use in scrapbooking. Some of them just sing, don't they? About Katy, since we don't have any others around anymore on a regular basis, I asked if we could call her that, since that is her real name.

I'm headed out in about 1/2 hour to go to the park with Mary and the girls. That will be my exercise for the day, because I know they'll really give me a workout! LOL!

Morning Ladies~

Marti~I didn't have a chance to talk to DS about the overseas thing. He is working and going to school and I didn't even see him come home! I knew he did but he's been so pooped he goes straight to his room to bed. I did see that Jhanai only wanted to start with one, but I will see if I can findout anything in case. And it wasn't thoughtless of you. I know sometimes I miss a lot of things in posts till I read what others say and then have to go back. Anyway, he is fine. His finger is swollen and I couldn't get him in to see the specialist like the doc in emergency wanted so made an appt. with his doc to see what they want to do. Would have to get a referral to see the specialist anyway so...I don't know what they can do. Yeah, I too would have been crying like a baby.

Jana~have fun at the park. It is so humid here. Didn't get any good stuff at SAMS, just the essentials, paper towels, kleenex, water, lots of water, vitamins, stuff like that. We walked past the cheescake and OMG it looked so good and I almost got some. I didn't though, I was thinking of all the fat in it and just kept walking. We try to go once a month but doesn't always happen. For the most part it is better to stock up on some things, better prices overall. I was so mad at DS#2-I told him I didn't care if the job needed to be finished he should have gone to the emergency room right away. I told him "you were just being all macho weren't you? Because you wanted the others to see you can take it, huh?" He grinned. But he says it doesn't hurt.

Julie~aaahh, my heart goes out to the six-year-old and his family.

Hi to everyone else, Susan, Katie, RosieKate, Shanna, Angie (hope you are having a GREAT time!), Sue, Jen, Mindee, and anyone I may have missed! I can't keep track of everyone.

Another so so day for me. I have so much laundry to do and will, later! DD and I are headed out the door in an hour to go see Suspect Zero. I am not sure what it is about but we have been taking turns deciding on the movie. Was going to go mn. golfing but it is already humid. I can deal with the heat but the humidity, no. I will try to be back later this evening to see what's up with everyone.

Have a good day!

Edited to add a couple of things.

Good Morning ladies--

I got this call around 8:00 this morning from James....he asked me if I was up yet and I told I was now.....and then he says "You're still in bed after 8:00"? (I'm looking at the clock and it says 8:05)....I told him I was up until 2:00 reading a book....wanting to finish it since I was so close!! (but I didn't...I would have been up until 3 or so!) So I had a little chat with him for awhile before he said to go back to bed......what?! I'm up now, might as well get the day started!

Jana--I went through a lot of photos lasts night. Put some aside for a mini album that I want to attempt to make for Christmas gifts. One for each of the grandparents and one to my son's family. The mini album is a great idea for all the photos that have small pictures of the person with a busy background. Ones I wouldn't put on a page. I may attempt some craftyness today!

Cristi--I never even heard of Supect Zero. Whose in it? I'm going to go buy Passions today.....then I'll have to wait until James gets home to watch it, I don't think I can sit here by myself. Been watching a lot of movies here at home on the Satellite. Finally watched Phone Booth, that was good. Then after that, James sat through one of my favorite Hitchcock movies "Rear Window" He said he actually liked it. Now I'm in the movie mood....wonder whats on tonight!

Morning to the rest of you ladies...I'm going to grab some breakfast...spend most of the days indoors as it is raining here in Oregon....(at least it's not a downpour like last week).....I'll check in later.

Good morning
Just wanted to say hi before we go off to shop...
Marti - Let me know how the penpal thing goes. I'm sure Dani and Jhanai will have more more in common than Jhanai and my son, but you never know. He'll be 8 in November and I think he'd get a kick out of a penpal. Now, whether he agrees with me is another story, lol

Jana - have fun with your family today, I'm sure you'll burn off a load of calories,

Cristi- so glad your son is ok now. When I read about the nail gun accident, I could just visualize it - I have too vivid an imagination. Can't believe he hung around and worked. His boss should have made him go, what about OSHA? I missed my calling - shoulda been a lawyer, I'm always thinking about liability issues. I was in a couple of car accidents, can you tell?

Julie - so sorry about the 6 y/o. that has to be such a hard part of your job. Congrats on the good review...

Susan- I do hope you come back soon - I miss reading about you and your family, job, etc. You managed to lose so much and keep it off - you're kind of like my weight loss idol. Please don't stay away.....

Hi to everyone else on this rainy day in Portland, OR. I'm going to be a brave mommy and go shopping at Winco AND Costco today. Hope my kids can handle it, it would really help to get all the big stock-up shopping done before school starts. My DD met her preschool teacher on Monday and it went very well. It was a home visit and by the end of it, she was asking the teacher to pick her up and and giving her hugs. So, I think she is ready for preschool 'cept for the potty training. I'm crossing my fingers on that one. She's close to doing this, but just not quite there. Fortunately the school day is so short, I think I can get away with putting her in a pull-up and hoping for the best.

And...we're off!

RK (aka Katy)

Hi ladies,

Cristi - I go with one of my sisters to Sams once in awhile. She has the membership, not me, lol. Sometimes the prices are about the same as Walmart, and sometimes we get some really good deals! But what I like is the variety of merchandise to see. I get bored with the same old stuff all the time!

Marti - I've seen Sandi Genovese (sp?) do those mini albums, and they can be done real cute! I think it's a clever idea to use them as gifts.

Katy - so glad Leigh met and likes her teacher. When does she start? Have fun shopping today.

Well, we had so much fun at the park! I went way to the top of this fort/slide contraption and helped the twins slide down to Mary over and over again. Then I sat in the pea gravel and looked for Indian beads. I couldn't have done those things last summer if my life depended on it!

Katie is getting her Senior picture for the yearbook taken today. We aren't using the same company for the whole set... just the yearbook shot. Anyway, that's exciting for her. My baby is growing up too fast! And she's the last one!

I'm going to find mine later and then post it........and if anyone else wants to join...that would be fun.

Default Hey Girls

Hope everyone's day went well, I had the regular day at work.....Thank you all for your support on my good review....I was pleased with it as well!!!!!
I am so tired today, dont know what my problem is.....guess I just have a lot on my mind, I did however squeeze in my walking on lunch and then I did step aerobics for a half hour this afternoon...I've been very motivated with the exercise lately, so Im taking advantage of it while I still want to!!!

Sounds like everyone is getting busy with all the kids going back to school!!

MARTI : I'll have to pull put my old senior picture, it wasnt too bad!!!

JANA, hope you had a nice day at the park, and ROSIEKATE, hope shopping went well and you didnt break the bank!!!!

Well I'm wiped out today, so Im off to do some homework and then hit the hay early tonight!!! Have a nice night all!!

Hello again girls--

Jana--Beautiful senior picture.....for some reason, I just didn't picture you with long hair....now why would I do that? Since I can't scan correctly, I just took a photo of my photo! Thanks for starting the thread!! Now I hope more people will like to share.

Katy--It's been awhile since James & I have gone shopping at Costco...we really need to update our membership. I need to change my name on mine...and we just haven't renewed it yet. But I love going there and stocking up on things that will last. And I especially love shopping around the holidays!! (which is very soon)

Julie--You sound like you're doing so well with your exercises!! You'll be at goal soon! I really need to move more. I do exercises...but it's really not enough. I REALLY miss going to the gym. I felt at my best when I went. I told James that when/if I get this job, I'm joining back up and I'm going to workout again. I always dragged myself in, but I always left feeling more motivated than ever and that's worth dragging myself inside.

Where is everyone else today? Well I hope you're all doing well.

It's hard to believe it September! Time is just flying pass me! My baby brother has a birthday today....he lives in Florida near my sister....I tried calling, but no one is answering...I'm worried with the Hurricanes still going on! I will try again tomorrow.

I was watching the news today and saw a report on the old Sony building. They gave a tour (not like I haven't seen it) but it was so strange to see it all so empty! They showed the area where they want to put the lab.....upstairs where I used to work, but I believe it would be in James' department. And of coarse, it's going to take a year before they're all in. But I still think it's great.

I wanted to check in, post my photo and see what everyone has been up to. I'll check in later.

nothing new on this end to report. I am kind of mad at myself this week. I stepped on the scale the other day, and it told me I gained! But it has made me want to push to get myself back on track to loose this weight by exercising! Oh and I read in one of my newsletters that it is bad to work out before going to bed, which is what I was doing, so I have been getting to bed sooner, and waking up and doing it when i have time during the day.

Jana~ we have actually had a couple fun filled days these past couple of days. I came up with an idea to tell family members when they ask what to get Brandon for Christmas……formula! Since he is going through about a can a week, it only seems fitting! Now if only we can make it through until then. I remember at Meijer’s though that they have a two pound can, that is either the same amount or a little more. I am hoping that it is a little less, so that we can buy a couple of them to stock up on his formula for a little bit.

Cristi~ Omg! I sure hope that they can do something about his finger!

Marti~ I ask him funny stories all the time, and usually he will just laugh at me. Yesterday I had him dancing on my lap while we watched “his” dvd, and I picked him up over my head and he drooled on me! (“his” dvd is the Eagles: **** Freezes Over tour. I bought it for Tommy for Christmas last year when I was pregnant with Brandon and he would relax and fall asleep or sometimes start kicking me when it came on.)

Julie~ Sorry to hear about loosing your patient. I was all set to go to school to be a nurse, but then chickened out because I knew I would get too attached to them. I wanted to become a pediatric oncology nurse.

I will post my senior picture on Thursday when I wake up! I still look the same....although I was a LOT skinnier then!

Mindee--

About you working out before bed. I've heard that too, but here is my experience with it. When I worked at Sony my husband and I would go to the gym after work and workout for an hour, then come home, shower and then go to bed. We worked 12hrs shifts and for us....it truly helped us unwind from the day, we slept better and the next day we had energy.

I remember hearing the same thing about not working out before bed,,,,I just don't remember why. But I thought I would share with you my experience.

As for your weight gain....you mentioned TOM being around and that alone will make your weight fluctuate.....so I wouldn't worry about it. For me.....if I see a gain....I don't count it unless it's still the same the next time I WI. And I WI once a week on Saturdays. I think it's more accurate because our bodies are just crazy and you can see a gain and then see a loss....when it become consistant...thats when it's time to either cry or celebrate!

Ok...off to browse!
