No, he doesn't stress that at all. If you are curious, enter your foods in www.fitday.com and you'll get the breakdown.

Kilikai, Ruth is our "Oh Wise One" about this stuff, so she's totally in the right, as always. Just wanted to jump in and say that Dr. A really stresses making this WOE your own by modifying how many servings of starch and fruit you eat, so these numbers could vary a lot from person to person.

i've been heavy-ish my whole life, so 130 maybe an unrealistic goal, i just want to feel skinny, so i think when i get there (which may be 140 135 130) i'll feel great and comfy in my skin and know (magically, somehow) that's where I should be!

www.fitday rocks! it's amazing to see your food quantified. thank you all for all your help!!!!!

130 at your height is at the low end of the healthy range for BMI. You would be wise to check with your doc.

I am 5 foot right on and pretty much small framed and my dr told me that 120/125 was good for me. Although I would like to be 115. He did give me the ok for that only becuase I am tiny framed like I said. That is that number in my head but I figure 120-125 will be perfect for me.

Ladies, you all sound so tiny! I went down to 113 last summer, I am 5'3'' and the doctor threatened to put me in the hospital. I am aiming for 120 now, which I know is small, but it is my usual. Going into the teens is scary to me. Above all, we should be healthy. =)

The teen thing for me is really a head number. That was my weight number when I was in High school. I never did get there. The lowest I have ever been is 120. So I am thinking that I will feel comfortable around 120/125 I don't want to look sickly just sexy. I am sure that when I get there I will stop know matter the number as long as it is healthy.

From the age of 18 until the age of 22, I weighed 128 at 5'-3". I ran every day, was muscular, and incredibly fit. I thought I was fat because I didn't weigh 110 pounds or so, but I looked GREAT! Now that I'm 39, I'm aiming for 135. To be 128 again would be fabulous, but I don't want to set my hopes too high.

My doc says that after about 25 or so, you will naturally weigh about 10 pounds more than in your teens. I'm probably going to have to settle for 185, though 175 was a setpoint for me for several years in my late teens.

Kilikai, I didn't read your sig when I posted last time...you really should check with your doctor. I'm 5'11", and when I had salmonella for a month, I got down to 111. I looked like a skeleton. It was really disgusting...truly. Perhaps instead of having a goal to get skinny, have a goal to get toned and lean? Do some work in the gym along with your work on a healthy eating plan, and build up your endurance. Muscles will increase your metabolism and exercise will help you feel better about yourself. But please do check with your doctor and follow his/her advice. 130 at your height would be pretty unhealthy unless you are very small boned, and even then....
