I'm Home!
Hey Everyone-
I just returned from two weeks in Spain. It was so awesome, everyone should try to get to Europe at least once. There are just some things that cannot be recreated here in the States... we're just too young of a nation! Cathedrals, aquaduct, the Prado, everything was great.
What've ya'll been up to? How did Chicago go??

Apryl! I'm glad you had such a great time! I miss Spain SOOOOO much some days! I've even been considering trying to get on as a DoD teacher so I can go back after my kids graduate.
Did you get to go to the Alhambra? That was one of my favorite spots.

Apryl!
I'm so happy for you that you had such a great time, and I do agree with you that it's well worth the trip. I've been to Europe 3 times! Twice in France and once to Rome. I was lucky though. I have friends in Europe and I was able to stay with them. I have my eyes on Ireland next.
Tell us all about your trip, your experience!
Yes, there are things that we don't have because we're so young as a country. Did you find that you took away anything from Europe? Will you live any differently now that you've had this experience?
I liked that there seems to be less emphasis on doing things and being busy, busy, busy in Europe. I'm so busy in my life here. Everything is highly scheduled and I'm generally always running behind my clock. It took me a while to get used to the experience of eating slowly, taking the time to enjoy the food, the friends, the surroundings. Call it more of an emphasis on "being" rather than "doing." I took back with me the ability to relax and enjoy the experiences around me -- and a taste for red wine, Italian gelato, and French pastry.
Now, I want to hear about your experience!
Jeanne
