WAG: you might need more protein. Other than nuts. And maybe more water. Have as much veggies as you'd like. If in Phase II, do you have oatmeal or fiber cereal? More fiber might help. Chickpeas (& other beans) help me, too.

I don't know about you, but I do NOT like the veggie juice. So, when I get the munchies, I grab a glass of it.

Curbs it for a while!

It's worse on weekends, but I did well with my first weekend nevertheless. The only thing was that I had an extra cheese stick. But that could be because I started working out for the first time since starting.

I find that if I get the munchies that it usually is out of boredom.

Ohh good point on the boredom eating!! When I think I am hungry cuz I'm not doing anything hence, bored, I just repeat the following: "I will not eat because I am bored" I say it over and over in my head and usually the hungry "sensation" passes rather quickly.

I have decided since I started this plan that if I go to get something to eat when I am not hungry I think to myself:

Am I really hungry or just bored?

Am I really hungry or just thirty?

If I eat this now, will I be disappointed in myself afterwards?

I know talking to myself might be silly but heck it works for me!!!!!

If you are having the munchies then grab a sf jello or pudding or sf popsicle.

HTH!

I totally understand about the eating when bored. Eating is definitely a coping mechanism for me, and since I haven't found anything to replace it, I am having a hard time with that. But I do okay during the weeks because I am so busy.

Has anyone found anything to substantiate the claim of glycemic index rising due to sugar substitutes? I asked my mom about that, and she said that she feels that is completely untrue. She is a Type II Diabetic and takes her blood sugar throughout the day. She says she drinks water all morning and then has diet soda and Crystal Light in the afternoon, and never notices a higher blood sugar in the afternoon. She thinks that if anyone has found a higher blood sugar after eating a sugar subtitute, it might be because of the food the substitute is in. I would love to know this, because sometimes I feel as if I am getting a sugar rush after eating a SF popsicle.

I combat my munchies with a cucumber, or hard boiled egg and LOTS of water.
