Smile Thursday morning chat

Wake up everyone!

Just a quick check-in while Jake is having his shower. We have to drop his car off for it's checkup, so while were out we're going to breakfast and back to Home Depot for more paint. The painting is coming along fine, and we should be putting the final touches on tomorrow. It really changes the look of the rooms!
Tonite is "girls nite out". I was going to sit out this one, but DH said "go". I think we're going to a new pizza place - yikes! I'm sure there will be salad on the menu, so I must be strong and order that. DH had better remember to tape "Survivor" for me!
The sun is shining now, but rain is moving in for the next few days. My posies are doing fine though. With this rain, the lawn is needing it's first mowing of the season already. It stayed warm enough last nite to leave the bedroom window open a little, felt good.
Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning! Yes, I slept well last night but did indulge in a Scotch or two in semi-celebration. I AM worried about the gut situation but am not going to whine about it anymore - except maybe in my journal. I will book the next test asap. 'Nuff said.

Just had a true Phase I breakfast of egg and Canadian bacon with coffee laced with sf/ff hot choclate mix. That's one of my comfort foods - instant coffee and a tablespoon of the chocolate - 12 calories of extra! Now I need to plan the rest of the day's food.

Painting, eh? I am going to get my kitchen painted once my new windows are installed on the 21st. I've still to decide on colours or wallpaper. My lovely cow and hearts paper has been up for ten years and is looking shabby in places. I wish I could just replace it but of course it's "out" now! I guess I'll have to spend some time at Colour Your World browsing through sample books. On the other hand, paint is cheaper and the Findlay Boys can't do wallpaper hanging worth a poop! I've decided the cabinets need to be painted - they are old and would have to be stripped completely for any other treatment.

I'll have to read back through the old posts to see what's happening with you Beauties. In the meantime, I've got to cruise the boards and get this household underway. Boring Jane comes this afternoon to be with Harry while I get my four hours off. Groceries are on the list because I just realized it's Easter Weekend!

Have a super day.

good morning everyone!!!

ruth so glad you are back and in good spirits today take care of yourself!!!

ellis have a nice time with mom and dad!!

cottage girls night out is a great idea, don't get caught up in the moment just have a good time relaxing with your pals.

i still have a cold it has progressed into an earach and a very sore throat, i could not speak when i got up this morning. i scared the kids waking them up for school since i had no voice i couldn't do my usual walk through the hall way saying WAKE UP!! in each of their doorways. i had to go in their rooms and in the tiny gravely little bit of voice i had say time to get up, it is funny sort of how they jumped at that, and when i yell WAKE UP!! they barely respond.
not much on the agenda for today hoping to get out of the office early so i can go home and lay in bed an whine about being sick like dh does(yeah right like that will ever happen)

have a good day everyone!!

Hi guys. Hope everyone is having a lovely Thursday morning.

I'm feeling discouraged today. I have not lost a pound so far this week....the scale is up .5 pound as a matter of fact since last Saturday. I'm not cheating on this diet, other than about a tablespoon of real half/half each morning and maybe a few extra nuts now and then. And I do mean just a few.....like maybe 5-10 if I'm really feeling hungry. I'm bummed.

Red face Sounds like a great day!

Painting, shopping, nite out with the girls....wow, too much excitement for me. I've been at work since 0600, just hanging out in the ER. Hope to leave early today. Having a few rain showers, smells so good outside.

Got up earlier than usual to do some weight training and stuff. Usually on the days I work, I'm not much in the mood to work out after I get home.

Don't be discouraged about the stuck scales. Keep it up, you will be rewarded.

Hello gals!

Ruth- So glad you're back in order, dear! Not feeling crappy anymore, ah?

Cottage- You'll do fine! I'm a big fan of "Life's too short" If you want to have A slice with the gals, I say do it, after you've filled up on salad, etc.

Ellis- Enjoy mom and dad!

Jodi- I'm so sorry you're feeling down. I hope you start to feel better. We'll pray for nice, healing weather in your neck of the woods this weekend.

Wendy- Drink some water and flush your system out. It should restart the process. Or become a man They seem to never get "stuck" the way we do! Persevere, dear.

RN- Good for you!! I can't drag my butt out of bed until I absolutely have to! Keep up the great work!!

Well, I cleaned the house while Jorge was away, and he has decided to play Tasmanian Devil and throw things all over the place. It's worth it, having him home. My boss informed me that I will be off tomorrow. I told her what she already knew, which is that I'm not a Christian, and Good Friday had very little meaning for me, personally, to which she replied that she didn't care, and I was to stay home. OK! I will. The craft store has a coupon out for between 8am and 1pm that you get 50% off your purchase!! I'm going to go nuts! I can't wait...

Still doing pretty much Phase 1.7 For example, I had cottage cheese with strawberries for breaky, and lunch has a pita sandwich and some broth. So, I'm not quite fullfilling the 4 a day thing for P-2, but I'm definitely not a P-oner! Either way, I feel good, pants still fit, what more could I ask for?

Off to work.. birthday celebration for me and my sister-in-law/Easter this weekend at Mom's. Can we say CHEAT!!

Well, I am back...

I decided to "splurge" on Wednesday night. What a mistake that was! I went to a passover seder where the hostess is a gourmet cook -- every year the food is more and more fabulous. She make flourless desserts that are bakery quality.

In any event, I will spare you the details but I have been very ill for over 24 hours due to a severe GERD/asthma episode. I had forgotten all about that since I have been on SBD. It is a consequence of overeating that I can control and I didn't. It is so frightening not to be able to breathe.

So, I am going to stop kicking myself over this as I finally feel human today. I think I may have gained back one pound, we will see if it is just water or not.

Caity--I'm not Christian either, but am taking off Friday. It isn't a requirement, you know. I finally have my appointment at the teaching hospital for my "interesting" eye problem (I am losing sight in my right eye and it looks weird to the corneal specialist).

Ruth--Hang in there. Lots of warm thoughts coming your way as you go through this.

Cottage--You can do it tonight! Does the pizza place have chicken or anything like that? Maybe a big Caesar?

Wendyjo--Hang in there. Just keep doing it. Sometimes I am just grateful that I am not GAINING any more.

Well, I am off to work. Have a good day everyone!

Smile

Good Morning SBers!!!!!

I slept in this morning and I'm just finishing my I feel better this morning somewhat. Still have the echoing in my right ear. And poor little DD's little voice is the worse!!!! And the kids are out for FIVE days from school!!!

SoCalBirdLady~ So sorry to hear about your Gerd/asthma attack!!! I KNOW how not being able to breathe is and my heart goes out to you!!!! Pleeeeez take care of yourself.

Wendyjo~ Hang in there and don't get too down. As women we go through so many times of the month that your weight gain may just be hormones changing and/or fluid. Drink a little extra water and see if that helps, if not, try re-evaluating everything you are eating or reading labels, there may be something that has hidden calories, fats or sugar. We are here for you. Hang tight!!!!! You CAN do it!!!

justjodi~ So sorry to hear that you have this allergy "thing" too. I am so ready to get rid of it. I do feel better but the echoing in my right ear is driving me crazy!!!!! Try to take care of yourself and get to feeling better real soon!!! Why is it that dhs are so much "sicker" than we are any time?? If I laid on the couch or in the bed and didn't do anything but whine, my family would be calling 911.

Ruth~ So glad to hear you are feeling better this morning. Wow, you are going to get to makeover your kitchen too. That could be a lot of fun as well as hard work. Have fun and find you something bright and cheery.

Hope EVERYONE else is doing well. HAVE A GREAT THURSDAY, Friday is coming!!!! Cya later!!!

I just found out that I'm going to my boyfriend's grandmother's house for Easter. These folks don't know the meaning of dieting. Its a family of 10 kids, raised on a farm, meat and potatoes. I went there for Christmas and their idea of salad is coleslaw and they ruin sweet potatoes by putting marshmellows on top. My family gatherings are usually greek salads, roasted vegetables, grilled salmon, and more veggies. Here I thought I'd be able to drop a few pounds this weekend since I'm walking my parent's dog 3 miles a day and painting one of their spare bedrooms while they're in Florida. I guess that means I have to be extra careful to stay OP every other meal. Sorry to whine, I just needed a place to vent.

Well, I am trying to gear up and prepare myself for the weekend ahead! I just need to have willpower and focus on my goals. Because of last weekend, I am only two pounds down for April, 6 to go! I need to be serious so I can actually achieve my goal!

I need to finish painting my bathroom today. It's been in a state of half-paintedness (like my new word?) for almost two weeks now. And the sad thing is that it isn't that big! So that is what I am off to do now.

Have a great day!
