Default 2017 Fall Reboot!

Hey everyone! I'm back at it in the forums many, many years later!

I lost 55lbs using IP alternatives back in 2010-11 and TODAY I'm back at it!

I've since received an education in holistic nutrition so I'll be starting my journey this time around on more of a PSMF but following all of the recommendations for macros (P/F/C) from IP and using alternatives (mostly homemade) again.

I also had my first kiddo in Dec 2015 and this weight is just hanging on so I decided to get back to the protocol that MY BODY LOVED and got me results at a healthy but exciting rate!

Currently I'm at my highest weight -- 191lbs. But no longer and NEVER AGAIN. I am determined to give this a serious effort through the rest of 2017 so I can start 2018 off as my BEST SELF!

I don't know if it's appropriate to start a new thread but I see that the 2016 Reboot chat has a ton of posts so I was thinking we could start a fresh one for those of use wrapping up summer and heading into fall on IP? Let me know what you all think!

Good for you, Cassie!

These boards are pretty quiet these days as Facebook seems to be the popular format but I prefer this one. Good luck and congrats on getting started again!

I'm in week 8 of my reboot. I am back doing it the way I did originally with strictly IP products vs tweaks and alternatives. I'm going strong!

Hi there - I'm on week 2 of a reboot! I did great about 3 years ago - loosing 55lbs. But life happened & I didn't continue with good eating habits & gained it back.

I'm struggling getting back into the program. It's hard to change those bad habits! I may ask my coach about the alternative method.

Good luck, Mary. It's all about the mindset.

I lost 24 pounds with IP last April-June 2016 in about two months (goal was 30 pounds so I never got to maintenance). I was beyond happy with the results. Lo and beyond, half of that has come back in the last year. I can't believe how quickly it come back up. I am back to IP big time now to lose. I got way too confident after losing so quickly last year. Do people lose what they gained the second time around?? I am scared that the magic I felt last year won't come back and I won't be as hyper vigilant with my meals. All the clothes I purchased last year after losing weight are now snug! I definitely feel the weight gain and I am so annoyed with myself. I had read the blogs last time around and couldn't believe that people had gained weight back. I remember thinking "that can't happen to me...I am too motivated." Ugh.

Hi ARF, as you've probably noticed, learning to do maintenance is the most important part of the IP program, lol. This time after you lose your extra pounds I'm sure you'll concentrate on that part of it and get it down pat! I know that IP clinics all suggest a yearly 'tune-up' so you can get any small upticks in weight off before it becomes a habit again.
I'm going back in to my clinic tomorrow after 3 1/2 yrs to get a bit of support in taking off the 5-8 lbs over my happy weight that I've gained. I know I could do it myself, but I just seem to be more motivated if I have a coach in front of me. You might be the same.

Cheers!

Hi All!

I'm on my Fall 2017 Reboot. I began August 20 (a week and a half ago) and have lost the first 6 pounds. I feel better already. I've got a good bit to go and I'm sticking with it!

Homebound and a little waterlogged today, but I anticipate it will be fine. I've got my food supplies, so I'm good.

I enjoy checking in here while on the weight loss journey. I look forward to keeping up with all of you!

Have a good day!

Hi Joysh! 6 lbs doing good! Can't wait to hear more.
My first weigh in is next Tues. I forgot how yummy the wildberry yogurt drink was. Delish at work tonight.

Hi Liana! Here we are again! But I'm always happy when I'm doing this. I love eating this way.

BTW - Harvey passed over us yesterday. Except for several hours of no power (and a lot of heavy rain) all is well. I'll go to Houston tomorrow to help my daughter and whomever us I can help. My heart goes out to all those who have been affected by Harvey.

Joysh, be careful in Houston. The explosions from the chemical plants there are a scary thing. Hope your daughter is OK.

Hi All,

I was able to go to Houston last weekend and help out a bit. My daughter, family and their house is fine, but so many others had horrible flooding.

Thoughts and prayers are with them and with those in Florida and the Islands today.

All the people I know from the Islands and in Houston are alive and ok although homes are damaged. Unfortunately 3 friends were killed in the earthquake in Mexico. Haven't heard from some others so we are holding our breath that they are safe. I can't believe how many catastrophic 'once in a century' events have been happening in the past few weeks.

Liana,

So sorry to hear about your friends in Mexico. Gee, our planet is taking a beating this month!

In other news, although mundane, I'm still on my P1 reboot. It's so SLOW and I'm impatient. But I'm just sticking to it. It's too important to not stick to it.

I've been doing this for almost a month and I'm down 9 pounds. Sigh. This scale moves so slowly. But I"m going to keep on keeping on.

Have a good day to all!

Well, you've got me beat, Joysh! It's been 3 lbs in two weeks for me, so 9 lbs is pretty awesome. It's much faster than the usual calorie counting/points type diets, still. You'll get there again. When you go to the grocery store next time stack 9 lbs of butter together in your empty cart and marvel that that is gone from your body already. Then don't forget to put it back in the dairy case, lol.

The rest of my friends in Mexico are ok, thank goodness. Just found out from my SIL that my niece & nephew had to be evac'd from St Martin via a cruise ship. They just got back to Virginia the other day. They were visiting friends in the islands when Irma barreled through.
