Okay dokey, have been having a sort of dreary year on the life and weight management front, so if you consider May to be 1/4 into the glorious year, this blog reflects my plan for the other 3/4s.
And Sage2 (me, basically) DOES want to end the year in a blaze of glory on all fronts (life and weight) so she has revamped things a bit.
Her new overall goal is 129 or below, as seen in the new ticker, and she has a little side goal going for herself to reach 132 by May 24, which is one week before the summer session starts (overage college student here).
The reason for the new goals is that Sage2 has been bouncing around on a plateau for four months or so and not really making progress below 132. The desire to be 120 again is still sort of there, but when you think about it, why? Living life happily fulfilled and active needs to happen at whatever weight, so it is the decision of Sage2 to say, "For now, 129 is the goal and 132 on May 24 would be very nice, too."
The rest is just attitude, fitness and keeping calories at where they really SHOULD be (let's face it) for Sage2's specific requirements. Those requirements are somewhat less than Sage2 has been eating at, but starting today she is going to give it a shot.
Sage2 used to weigh MUCH more than she weighs now and she IS at a healthy weight. She just feels better in at least the 120s. Her joints and bones feel better, her blood pressure feels better, her clothes fit.
The posts on this journal will consist of calories, activity and weekly weight or whatever else pops up.
The most important thing about the NEW SAGE2 INITIATIVE is that it represents a change in attitude. The wind has shifted. Sage2 is back in her right mind (as far as weight is concerned, not so sure about the other part of all that).
Here's the deal on the Sunday Scale Tale: I weigh and log daily and use Sunday as my OFFICIAL weekly touchstone, but really, it's the trend that counts, so I think of the whole thing as a flowing stream of data, not an old-style weekly weigh-in that is the be-all and end-all. So, here are the weekly stats and below that, I'll post the info on my how my diet Saturday went.
Ergo, I am up .2 from last Sunday to 135.2 and that is aces with Moi because I bounced up and down like a tennis ball all week. I am calling this maintenance and would bet you anything that I'll break this blankety-blank 135 plateau by tomorrow (and I will post it when that happens).
I'm very pleased as to how I have done in the past few days to get a grip on fitness and calories. Some things became clear, among them that I do not desire to go so low in cals that I feel deprived and also that I desire to get back the activity mojo I used to have. I'm going to start buying self little fitness presents each week. The healthy weight loss/management lifestyle is NOT a prison sentence. It should be fun. If not, why do it? If I'm going to be a depressed and miserable couch potato, I might as well regain all the weight from 21 years ago and lie around and have pity parties as I did then. I need to be kinder to myself now as I know more about what I want and how to get it.
