Hello Ipeeps! Long time no write. Proud to say that it's not because of being in the dumps. spring has sprung here in Vt and there's been a mix of doing alternate protocol, watching calories and doing a lot of walking! Have not been good at my supplements which between that and ultimate low calories I have actually been feeling really tired nd weak. Oops! Must get back to the supplements. Not paying too much attention to the number on the scale because I feel great. I am not depriving myself but also walking and running a bunch too.
Not sure where this post belongs at this time as it sound like I am all over the place. Hope u are all well. Happy spring!

So nice to see you back here, Carmie! Glad you have been enjoying Spring - I hope we'll see more of you as Summer begins!!

Got back to some dancing this weekend - last nite a dance party with a variety of ballroom and latin, and today a workshop of Texas 2-Step and some line dances. I was so annoyed that I forgot to wear my Fitbit today - between the 2 Step and the line dances, I know it was a lot of steps that my little clip on would have recorded..... phooey!

Shopped today and picked up 4 pair of Alfred Dunner pants - 1 pair of jeggings, 1 pair of jeans and 2 of the new Slim-signature pants in black and khaki -- all pull on and have stretch waist, but they are smooth fitting without gathers. I also found a nice white shirt, so I feel like I have some wardrobe fundamentals now that fit me. I am jazzed!!

Lisa ~ waiting to hear good news....

Yesterday we did DS's birthday party and I ate my salad as everyone ate pizza, pasta and garlic knots...while they endulged in Ice Cream Cake...I ate my brownie with a bit of WF chocolate syrup. Yeah Me...

Today is laundry and clean up the house day... Wound up getting a migraine last night just as company was leaving ..was fighting it all day with meds and it finally hit..so I just left everything and went to bed...Guess DH and DS did not think it would be helpful to clean up anything so they will hear my rath later today LOL...

Lisa: looking forward to your news!
Carmie: Good to see you back and doing well.
Sue: yeah! you for sticking to the plan at yesterday's food fest! And sorry about the migraine. I use to suffer from them terribly (4-5 a month) but once I got my BP under control with meds, they have all but disappeared. And since being on IP I've only had one and it was squelched quickly with my Imitrex. And I feel you on the housework stuff. Sometimes it seems that only I can see what needs doing. Feel better and put them to work today!
One: the dancing sounds fun! Hubbie has 2 left feet and mine are so out of practice I'd look a fool on the dance floor.

I need to get some new clothes but I hate to spend the money on something that I won't be able to get my money's worth out of. Even at the consignment shop I frequent it can add up pretty quickly. I have purged my closet and dresser of so many clothes it is ridiculous. I had sizes up to 5X tops and 26W jeans/capris. My closet looks so empty. I have to keep track of when I wear what so I don't repeat too soon. I only have to "dress" for church so it's not that big of a problem but I still would like to have some "new" choices! What's a girl to do? We are a very laid back church so jeans/capris and a nice top are my usual attire. I don't accessorize so scarves and cardigans aren't a part of my wardrobe. Oh well...maybe their memories are short and what I wear doesn't register for them!

re: dancing -- I bet you could get back in practice on line dancing pretty quick -- it is a good brain workout as well as an activity that keeps you moving and helps you work on balance -- all of these are areas to pay attention to as we get older. And line dancing requires no partner, so if you can't get your other half to try it, it's something you could purue on your own, if interested. There in Texas, I bet there are plenty of line dancing classes or clubs. Can you tell? I highly recommend dancing. I am so sorry I waiting until I was 55 to pick it back up again (my Mom had put me into a tutu at the age of 3, and I continued thru HS).

Regarding clothing -- I find some things at the consignment shops, but I have invested in some nicer stuff at the outlet mall, and at sales at Drapers and Damons'. Like you, I feel reluctant to spend good money of clothes that I will grow out of pretty quickly. Some of those clothes I have bought are too big, but most can be taken in. I am still working in the office, and I must be the oldest person in the room most of the time... so I feel a need to have some degree of 'current' look in my clothing so that I am not perceived as ancient and totally not 'with it.'

But there is also some good cognitive development that happens for us- it is good to get a sense of your slimmer body that comes from seeing yourself in clothing that fits, so you really recognize the changes in your shape. As we lose so much weight it's a little hard to wrap your head around the change and 'own' the new reality.

I am sorry that I did not know about the Gwynnie Bee site and the ability to 'rent' clothing as I came down in size. Like Netflix, you can have a lot of variety in new looks with a subscription with them.

I did take stuff to consignment myself for the first time this week - I don't think I will make much money from that, but I will get a bit, and those things that don't sell will go to charity and I'll get the write off. Mainly, though, I feel so good about getting the big clothing out of the house!
Just not going back there, darn it!!!

I LOVE dancing. This has gotten me thinking... I should get back into this as it's a great way to get exercise that doesn't feel like exercise! Now to find a partner....

Also, I just recently stumbled on Gwynnie Bee from an ad on myfitensspal. I would love to use the service, but they don't let you actually pick which specific item you get as far as I can tell. You build a 'closet' and they will send you a specific number of pieces that they have available at the time.
