Morning all. TGIF!!!

Shad – Thanks for setting up our new thread. I like the title. As I may have mentioned, I recently made an appointment for my annual physical and I would certainly like to have a "wonderful weight loss" this month. The appointment is on the 29th. I’m on day 4, so far, so good. I hope you get all your travel arrangements finalized soon – you don’t have much more time before you’re off to that new project. Don’t worry about warmer clothes, just keep adding layers, LOL.

Ceejay – So you'll devote part of your weekend to the aunt’s house again? I hope it all goes smoothly.

Oh, texted Annie and she’s at home today on her sofa, feeling “a bit better”. Keep the healing vibes coming!

Susie – How are you feeling? I hope your day of rest at home helps your recovery.

Hellos to the rest of you!
--
My employer’s wellness plan is offering a mini lab test as a 6-month re-check – to see if we’re on track to meet our “Personal Health Goal” (note to self - see if I have a goal). However, it isn’t a full bloodwork, so I will skip that and schedule bloodwork with my doctor so it gets done before my annual physical. I had full bloodwork last fall, but the doc wants something more current. Hopefully I can get an appointment first thing in the morning on a Saturday so the fasting isn't too long.

Didn’t do much of anything last night. Enjoyed the quiet when I got home – bf was out grocery shopping. After he got home, he broiled some salmon for dinner and that was pretty tasty.

So far I haven’t managed to get myself out of bed for a morning workout. Today I didn’t do any exercises – my pecs were sore from the one measly set of pushups I did yesterday, and I have a bit of all-over soreness remaining from yogalaties class the other night. My rear is still feeling sore when I sit on the bicycle seat – usually that passes after just a day or two. Guess I’m just feeling old and creaky the past few days.

The boss is back in the office today. He’ll likely be busy catching up on everything, so maybe it’ll still be a mellow day...

Tonight we’re going to a small family birthday celebration for a long-time friend of bf’s. We'll wait for traffic to subside before driving there, so we will eat dinner before we go. Hopefully that will help me resist the snacks.

Tomorrow is a hair appointment, but before that I’ll go to a class at the recplex.

Nothing firm planned after that. There are a ton of dandelions in one spot out back where I planted more hosta last year and I have to get rid of them before they choke out the hosta. I think I’ll get out there with my long-handled garden claw and try to loosen the soil and get them pulled. Once the hosta get established they really fill in and keep a lot of weeds at bay, but right now they’re still small and the dandy’s take advantage.

Now that it’s warm I want to do outside stuff, but the dang half bath still needs a lot of attention! Truth be told, there’s still quite a bit of sanding and re-patching to be done, and bf didn’t do the best paint job of it. He positioned both the TP holder and towel ring too high, so they need to be lowered. And I hate to say it, but I no longer like the paint color we chose because it doesn’t really look right with the color of the sink/toilet. Aaargh.

Okay, I better stop or I’ll ramble on an on. Everyone have a lovely weekend.

Hello everyone. I can't believe it is May already! Where is time going?

I have about 4 weeks and then the BIG 50 birthday will be here.

I am still coughing but it is loser now--I think they call it a "productive cough"? Yesterday I would run the shower and just sit in the bath room while it was running (with the door closed) the steam helped me to breathe. The stronger antibiotic is helping as well.

I found the vaporizer last night and put water in it to just give me steam in the bedroom while we slept and I spent most of the day in the bedroom, door closed with the vaporizer running. I will do that again tonight. Oh, and I'm sleeping propped up with 5 pillows! My DH says there is no room in the bed for him.

Laura: Glad to hear the good news about the additional pictures. It sounds like you have a busy weekend planned. I need to get my closets switched over. It's going to be in the 80's here next week!

I think it is a good thing to get the full blood work profile done at your doctors. We have those mini lab test events at work too and I almost done it this year...and had I, I wouldn't know about the blood calcium issue. Going forward for me it will always be the full blood-work profile.

Happy: Right now my computer is behaving. I have backed up what I think is important and wouldn't want to loose. I didn't get it to the local computer repair place since I haven't been feeling well. How is your repair going?

Shad: So, back to work are you? I hope this is a good assignment for you. Are you ready to get back grind?

Terra: Good to see you!

Dee: I can't remember what you posted but it always makes me happy to see you posting and back on the same board with me

Ceejay: I hope that you have a good trip and get a lot done. It is nice of you to help with all this packing and moving.

Annie: You poor thing! It sucks to feel so bad. I hope you feel better soon. We both need to get straightened up so we can do the KI trip! Take care of yourself.

We are keeping our friends 4 girls tonight. Our friends are at a church Leadership conference. The girls are 14, 11, and 7 (the last two are twins). They are keeping their selves entertained with the tv and Disney channel and on their tablets. We will all watch a movie later and I told them we are all sleeping in tomorrow. Keeping it low key!

See you all tomorrow.

Ceejay: I hope t

Hi everyone,

Thanks for setting up the new thread Shad. I too hope to have a wonderful weightloss for May. I was supposed to have my annual physical last week but the doctor had to be out of the office so it got switched to next week when I am out of town so I had to reschedule again this time to early June as she will be out the back half of May. Not a bad thing, I really need to work on eating clean to get better readings on my weight and better numbers on the cholesterol. Which I should have started 2 months ago. We've been eating out a lot lately - grab and go and not the healthiest stuff and I am feeling the effects. We went up to the big casino in Duluth yesterday for my birthday celebration. Had a nice time - spent my "allowance" and we had a nice dinner at the buffet although I was disappointed that most of the seafood was battered and fried. I did have a few shrimp and some steamed crab legs - people were being outrageous gluttons piling 4, 6 and even 8 sets of legs on their plates. Since there wasn't much in the way of vegetables - I missed the steamed asparagus - I ate several things from the salad bar. I was quite pleased to see they had a full cart of all sorts of fresh fruit - blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, watermelon, pineapple, pears and something else that escapes me at the moment. DH and I each had a big bowl of fresh fruit for dessert. Tonight we went out for a burger but it wasn't that good. The place we went to was really nice though - on a big lake and the birds were singing and it was nice and peaceful. Things are tinder dry out here - fire danger is really high. We truly need some rain. There are lots and lots of trees down. I think many got damaged in the September tornado and now are weakened by the drought. It's messy and sad out there. They have closed the trails for ATV riding - those engines tend to get rather hot and it could easily spark a fire on the dry tinder or leaves. I hope it will not continue this way - we didn't use the UTV at all last year due to the horrid mosquitoes and then really wet conditions. Other than that I am behind on getting ready for my trip to Chicago. I am meeting up with 2 of my cousins, there's things to do with my Mom and my sister said she has a few "surprises" for me so the 6 days I have there are pretty much filled up. I guess I really do have to fly in and spend 3 weeks. As for driving Laura - I think my sister would let me drive her car except I hate driving and don't like driving someone else's car. Also I am used to less traffic up this way and driving back in the city gives me the willies again. When we come in on I90 - I almost have to close my eyes - everyone zooming around makes me very nervous. And I hate to admit it but my eyes are getting really bad. I am angry that this doctor charged us $400 each for an eye exam this year and didn't do much in the way of "care". I will try new glasses but I think my problem is bigger than just glasses because even he said my prescription did not change that much. So that makes me uncomfortable with driving anything other than short distances. I miss my youth!!!!!

Susie - you are so right - where did the year run to? I was laughing with my sister - May sort of crept up on all of us quickly. So... a milestone birthday - nifty 50s are you planning anything special to celebrate? I am so sorry to hear about your bronchial woes. Sitting in the steam is a good idea as is sitting propped up. We have an adjustable bed now which has been fantastic for colds or bouts of acid reflux, otherwise I would sleep on the couch where I could crouch in an upwards position or in the recliner. It's terrible when you try to lay down and all you do is cough. I have most of my computer together - will have to finish it up when I get back. It does run faster now that I started fresh. Even with Malware removal I think there is still residual junk that eventually bogs it down. Good thing you backed yours up - just remember to do it regularly.

Annie - sending you healing thoughts each night - feel better soon!

Laura - yum broiled salmon. Love it. That's a bummer that you aren't happy with the paint color - I am having the same problem trying to decide on what to paint the walls in our house. It's an open room and we have lots of natural oak trim. I almost miss the white painted woodwork we had in Tennessee - it went so nicely with bold accent walls but that would not work here and plain old white is just too cold and stark. I hope it will not be a big deal to repaint the bath when you decide on something different. I think there are almost too MANY colors to choose from and one winds up with analysis paralysis. Better get out in the garden soon - I hear it's going to be a rather rainy week next week. Wish some of that would head north by us. I am jonesing for a good thunderstorm even if it the kitties say no.

Speaking of thunderstorms - Shad it must be pretty bad if you are looking for a build plan for an ark Weren't you dry as a bone recently and I guess it's too much rain all at once? How is the clothes shopping coming along? I do like the new hair cut and color if I did not say so before. You look quite sharp.

Dryer just went off - I'd better tend to the clothes so I can finish up and go to bed as it is late. Not sure how much more I'll be able to post before I leave but carry on in my absence and I will try to check in as I can.

Hellos to the rest of the crew

Good morning ladies,

Gosh I feel so out of touch with you all and I apologize for being away. I was spending 10-12 hours a day looking for and applying for work, and talking to recruiters/headhunters/placement agencies.

I got a job offer. It's a job doing things I'd really enjoy using a programming language I really like and am really good at. The pay isn't as much as I was making at my last job, and my insurance will cost a bit more, but it's a permanent job and the insurance is cheaper than COBRA. I start a week from Monday.

Later today, I'm taking Santa to a doggie party, and there will be lure coursing...which he loves doing. I'm sure we'll both have a great time! After that, I'm going to a programming class (and another one tomorrow). There's a meet-up group (I found on meetup.com) and this gentleman who is a programmer who offers a variety of different programming classes. The cost is low and the instruction is really good.

Oh, one more bit of news...I'm copying some of this from a post on Facebook yesterday...so if you've already seen it, I apologize. I am officially no longer obese...just overweight. I've lost a total of 88 lbs (30 prior to surgery and 58 in the 6 months post-surgery). And last week, I received a 30% off code from Kohl's. Having worked at Kohl's, I know those don't come along very often, so I ordered some pants and shorts in size 8 (I'm currently wearing a size 10 - down from a 20 before surgery). I tried on the size 8 clothes and they FIT!! OMG! I can't believe it! I haven't been a size 8 since I was in my early 20s (longer ago than I care to admit). The number on the scale is still higher than it was back in my 20s...but I'm making good progress (though the speed of the weight loss is slower now than in the beginning - which the doctor said is normal). And for more good news, I had my 6 month follow up appointment, and my lab tests came out close to perfect. My diabetes is non-existent so now my medical records say I have a HISTORY of diabetes...but I'm officially not diabetic anymore. I'm thrilled that my recovery, overall health, and weight/inches loss are doing so great!

==================
Annie - I hope you feel better soon.

Laura - Bummer that the paint color isn't what you were hoping for.

Happy - As for thunderstorms, give it time. I'm sure you'll have your fill in another month or two. I'll have to go back and read your earlier posts to find out where you're going out of town.

Shad - I hope you and your loved ones aren't experiencing any flooding. I love the new cut and color! Really looks great on you!!

I'll try and catch up with the rest of you later today or tomorrow.

Much love and big hugs,

Hi. I am staying home from church today. I am coughing less but still coughing but not as much as I was Thursday and Friday.

I will be working on getting my closet switched over today. If I don't I won't be able to go to work as it is going to be in the 80's this week.

Happy, it is nice you got to the casino for your birthday. When you go, do you play the tables or the slots?

I am surprised to hear that you need rain in your area all ready. With all those trees let's hope you get some soon!

Michele, it sounds like 8 is a good number for you! So much for you to celebrate! New job and no longer obese! I am so very happy for you.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Morning all,

Happy Sunday. It's sunny and the birds are singing up a storm. I have the screen door open and kitty is really enjoying sitting there taking it all in. It's starting to get more overcast so I hope rain will be moving in today - we desperately need it. The air is so dry that what little moisture makes it over to us dries up in the atmosphere and never makes it as rain.

I did get up a little earlier today which is good - have a VERY busy day today and since I have to get up at 5am tomorrow, I am hoping I will be tired early and be able to get to bed at a decent hour tonight. I have been going to bed close to 3am for the last 2 weeks. Not getting enough sleep either as I wake up early with the sinus stuffiness.

Susie - good luck on the closet switch out. I think we are all supposed to get some warm weather the week ahead. Will be nice to feel the warm sun and now you can wear some outfits to go with the spring shoes! To your question, I play the slots. I was intimidated early on in Las Vegas by the table games - I prefer the one on one of slots although if you are going to make any money, table games are the way to go. Sometimes I watch DH play craps but it doesn't really interest me. I hope you can get that cough under control, I know I am more than tired of the sinuses being swelled up and the stuffy nose.

Michelle - congrats on the new job and getting into single digit sizes. No longer obese - what a great feeling that must be! And all your blood work coming back normal. I have to believe a good part of it is dropping all the sugar from your diet. I am seeing more and more about sugar being the devil and we are taking far more in that we can exercise off or our bodies can handle. It gives one pause to think. I happened to notice an email from Kohls late last night and bingo - I got the magic 40 percent off so I ordered DH some new t-shirts and jeans - his are starting to wear out. They had a decent sale yesterday so I scored some good stuff. I just wish it would get busted into 12 separate shipments - DH tends to think I went on a spending spree if something gets delivered every day and I can't see how that is anywhere near cost effective for Kohls to mail out one t-shirt at a time. Anyway, congrats on your successes!

Hellos to the rest of the chicks. I need to get on with the day. Have a good Sunday and I will check in as best I can during the week.

Hi ladies,

Santa and I had so much fun at the doggie outing yesterday. He got to do the lure course a few times, which he really enjoys. I'll try and get one or two of the videos online today or tomorrow.

After the doggie get together, I dropped Santa to day care while I took a computer programming class at the Library. Then I went to my step-mom's house. She's out of town until Tuesday, but my step-brother is there and he sounded like he could use some company.

Today will be spent cleaning and decluttering. Something I didn't have much time for when I was doing job search stuff 10-12 hours a day. Later, we'll go to the dog park. (and if there's any "free" time, I'll be doing some programming online training to freshen up my skills for the programming languages I'll be using at my new job).

====================
Susie - Good luck getting the closet switched out! I hope you feel better soon.

Happy - As for Kohl's multiple shipments...I totally understand the perception of the shopping spree. Shortly after I moved in with Doug, I accidentally had my Kohl's order shipped to my step-mom's house...not a huge problem...except when the packages arrived every day, she really thought I spent a fortune, which I hadn't. Having worked at Kohl's, this happens because some items are shipped directly from the supplier, and for the stuff that is actually kept and stored in Kohl's warehouses...well, they have warehouses all over the country, and rather than having the full inventory at each warehouse (and they'd need HUGE warehouses), they have certain items each warehouse so one t-shirt might be in stock at the Illinois warehouse, but another might be only in stock at the Southern CA warehouse. Not sure if that makes sense...but as I said, I definitely understand the problem with the shopping/spending spree perception.

I've got a lot of decluttering to do...so I must get off the computer.

Much love to all,

Afternoon all. Quick post as I'll be getting doggy out for a walk soon.

Happy- I hope you get some rain in your area. Safe travel wishes to you, and have a great visit back home.

Susie - Feel better soon! I meant to take my boiled wool cardigans to the dry cleaner this weekend. guess I forgot. I'll try to remember to get them over there this week. Otherwise I don't have much trouble switching over my closets for spring and summer clothing.

Michelle - Big congrats to you for the new job, no longer being obese, and being cleared of the diabetes. Lots of great news!!! :congrats: Nice you have a week to gear up for your new job.

Okay, gonna walk doggy now. It's been cloudy today, which will be nice for our walk, no sun visor needed.

I think the aunts house is done. We packed up dishes Friday and part of Saturday and then I started on the storage shed. My aunts roses are beginning to bloom so I made a couple of pictures and texted them to my cousin. She showed them to her mom and said it made her day. Next week the rose bushes will be covered in roses and I'd like to make a picture of that. I will probably go back just for that and take my aunt out to eat for Mothers day.
I've also got to decide in the next couple of weeks which doctor I need to continue to use. I'm leaning toward the doctor in Jonesboro because of the B12 problem. The doctor here will not check those levels.
I'm working on raising my HDL levels for my next blood work goal. My LDL levels are in a good range. I can get the HDL levels up but then get lax on things and this bugs the doctor wondering what's going on.

I feel for you. Feel better soon

I hadn't thought about closing the door and running the vaporizer. You feel better also. I need to switch closets too.

Congratulations on the new job and the pounds lost.

Safe travels and enjoy your visit. Was the bear that was posted on FB roaming in your yard?

I need to shop for some new clothes myself. I wasn't wanting to buy the same size but guess I will for the time being. Thanks for starting up the new thread.

Hello's to all...

I am back at about 95%. A few bathroom issues as the antibiotics wear off, took the last of them Sunday morning. My back is still hurting but not as bad. I have heat patch on the area of pain which seems to help. Made it to church yesterday but then took if very easy the remainder of the day with only fixing dinner, simple boneless ham steaks, left over baked taters made into fried chunks, broccoli cheddar rice. Fresh fruit for dessert. (watermelon and pineapple).

LAURA...thank you for keeping the girls updated with my status.

CHELLE...congrats on the new job. You can always keep looking, but if you are happy and like what you are doing that means more than money sometimes.

SHAD....hi ho hi ho, off to work you go. Short vacation between jobs. Good on you. Thanks for start up the new thread. I am down another 6 lbs since being sick. Let's see if I can keep it off.

SUSIE...hope you are feeling much better also. Yeeee, we have to get better or no KI next month.

HAPPY...thank you for all the kind words, thoughts and prayers. Definitely helped, I am sure.

CEEG...how was the weekend in Paragould. Cleaning out after someone is so sad.

DEE...thank you for the get well bump!

Hello to the rest of you, I have so much catching up to do here. 256 emails, a lot of marketing to do, and several deals (8) this week that will need packaged. The line forms in the rear! Lol

Make it a great day, thank you Jesus for healing my body.

Great news on my brother, will post that later!

Hugs and Love all the way around.

So coming up for air for a minute......

My brother's cancer is 50% LESS in the pelvic and spinal region, however the main lymph node that is originally spread into has a change, it looks different, but cannot tell from CT good or bad. Doc is scheduling him for a MRI this week or first of next. It is not urgent but wants to see what exactly is going on in there. His PSA was down yet again to 1.8, 1-3.5 is normal. Doesn't mean the cancer is gone by any means, just means it is at bay. So that was my "good" news for last week.

Good Afternoon Ladies - I cant believe its May already, The months are just flying by. I have alot of t.v shows to watch today and Sunday, Those are the only two days I'll be able to stay at home all day and catch up my shows but I'm still gonna make sure I go for my daily walk though. Anyway I thought all books that you order from Amazon took so long to get to you but I ordered my books on Friday and I got them today so I guess I was wrong. I'm looking forward to reading my new books though. I ordered what I thought was Britney Spear's autobiography but its not, Its a book written by her and her mother. I'm still gonna read it but I'm bummed that what I thought I ordered was not what I got, Oh well, I guess next time I will look closer at the book. The other book I got was Jennifer Lopez's autobiography.

Morning all. Back to work Monday.

Terra – What TV shows do you like to watch? My boyfriend and I watch The Good Wife, Better Call Saul, Law & Order SVU, The Middle, Mike & Molly, and some reality shows like Storage Wars and Pawn Stars. My bf DVRs a lot of other shows, such as Shark Tank and car restoration shows. I hope you enjoy your books.

Annie – So glad you’re feeling better now. What great news about your brother! I hope you make some headway today in getting caught up at work.

Ceejay – It was nice of you to send photos of the rosebushes to your cousin so your aunt could see them. My cholesterol is a bit high, but it’s because my HDL levels are high. Since that’s the “good” one, my doctors are okay with that. Hope you can get your HDL up by the time the bloodwork is done.

Shad – Did you buy any new clothes?

Michelle – I’m glad you and Santa enjoyed the outing on Saturday. Interesting the way Kohl’s maintains their inventory. I get the benefit of not maintaining a full inventory at all their warehouses/distribution centers, but it still seems like all the multiple shipments would make it a costly way to do business. But I’m sure they’ve done the homework. It’s certainly a lot of extra packaging, as well as fuel used for the deliveries – not very earth friendly, (IMO).

Hellos to the rest of you.

My weekend was fine. The birthday celebration on Friday night was low key and fun. The friend whose house we were at has a newly remodeled basement and it was the first time I’d seen it. It looks really nice, but it still doesn’t make me want to spend the time and money on such a project…

I did a circuit class at the recplex on Saturday morning, then had my hair appointment. After that I went to the thrift shop. I bought a few things, the best of which is another LeSportsac bag for $5. This one’s a mini-bag made out of black nylon. It’ll be good for when I don’t want to carry much around with me.

After that was a dog walk, and then a late lunch and Costco and Home Depot runs. We didn’t see any patio sets we liked at either place. The evening was quiet.

On Sunday I lazed around in the morning, then did some laundry and a dog walk. I decided I’d rearrange the furniture in the 3-season room, but after working up a sweat, realized the previous arrangement worked best. Yup, I moved it all back the way it was. Wish I’d been wearing my fitbit, LOL.

I didn’t end up doing any yardwork over the weekend because the ground was rather dry and I decided to wait until another time, since rain was expected and it will make the soil easier to work with. However, the forecast for this coming weekend is rainy, so I might not be able to get out to do anything then. Maybe the forecast will change by then…

Bf started mowing the lawn late in the afternoon and was just about done when it started raining. It rained quite a bit into the evening and overnight, but it wasn’t raining this morning, so I cycled to the train. Hopefully it won’t rain when I leave work – I’m going to the eye doctor and will be doing some extra walking.

I’m a bit cranky today. I hurt my shoulder right before bed yesterday – when I was lotioning my hand and arms, of all things. I somehow twisted my arm the wrong way. Anyway, it still hurts and who knows how long it’ll take to heal.

My new eyeglass frames are finally at my eye doctor’s office, so I will go there after work to do the measurements for the lenses. I will also tell my doctor I want to change back to the daily lenses. The 2-week ones get uncomfortable after a while, and it turns out the vision on the left one isn’t working out any better than it did with the dailies.

Enough rambing, better post and get back to the grind.
