Skim has more sugar than half-and-half (ofcourse half and half has more fat). I would think that half and half is the best choice for staying in ketosis. I dont go to a clinic though, so this is just my opinion.

Fat Free or skim milk only, and just 1 oz a day

The most updated IP P1 sheet says "regular" milk
I guess it leaves it to interpretation.
It used to be skim milk only.
Perhaps they're figuring out we don't need to fear fats.

It definitely says MILK, rather than half n half.

I was on IP for year and have been maintaining for a month now, I lost 80 pounds during that time, I usually used skim milk – but when only 1%, 2%, or whole was available I splashed some in – I always kept it at 1 ounce – it didn't seem to make a difference. Honestly for me the 1 oz didn't give it much taste, I think just mentally I like to see it a little lighter :-). Toward the end I also splashed in some of the iP maple syrup and a shake of plain cinnamon – that was really nice.
