Winery trip today. I'm doing this for the social nature. But I'd rather avoid the excess.

There will be too much drinking and an over-exposure to junk food.
Not my ideal day. I saved my WI for this morning to keep my head in perspective. I'm bringing a bar and a drink packet. Red Mio will look like wine. And, my standard veggie tray with cauliflower "hummus". Most important is to remind myself why I'm going ( people and relationships) and to sit away from the food or just get my exercise in & walk around.

Lisa I think you have a great plan for today - I hope you manage to have fun!

My coach/friend text me at 7:30 this morning inviting me to come work out with her so I am headed that way at 9. Usually I take Saturdays off from my walking so this is a bonus workout I guess, lol.
After that I need to finish tidying up the house because I have a lawyer coming at noon to do the closing on my refinancing. Sort of nice that they come to you! Then I get to go to a recreation league football game this afternoon. One of the youth at church asked me to come for his first game of the season, so I will be there cheering him on!
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Yesterday was tough! Since I cooked lunch that took the temptation out there, but I had all my daily meat at lunch. Then I went to the game night/girls night...13 people, and everyone brought some kind of food and wine!

But I stayed 100% OP! And the scale rewarded me this morning with 198!! Out of the 200's!! And my friend (and coach) have me all her WF she had left, and 3 RTD drinks.

It's rainy here today, but I'm hoping we will go somewhere... Maybe to a battlefield or state park or something. I just want us to get out and do something!

Good luck Lisa! I had to turn down a wine tasting for next Tuesday with a dear friend that I have not seen in awhile and have been bugging to get together. This is one that doesn't have anything else but the wine tasting (and they bring in really good loaves of bread w hunks of cheese). It's in meeting room at one of the local universities and I would only know my friend...so, I figured it was not a good choice for now.

Lisa - you have a great plan and a great frame of mind! Have a wonderful time!

This weekend is full of the usual madness, Hitting up the nutrition store for a few boxes of packets and a jug of Syntrax Nectar (going to start adding in some light yoga and walking and I like that as my extra packet post-exercise), going to the farm for our CSA share and visiting the animals, then to my MIL's house for a horse riding lesson with auntie! I have my veggies and a bar packed up for lunch (my MIL doesn't always have veggies handy) and if we stay at her house for dinner I'll roast up the eggplant in this week's CSA for my veg at dinner.

Hope everybody has a great day!

I bought my first rutabaga this morning. I had to ask the grocery guy if they even sold it and then he and I wandered the aisles until I actually found it. I'm going to make pork loin + rutabaga for Sunday dinner.

Lisa, I'm impressed with your commitment to staying on plan!

Last night a friend of mine hosted a dessert potluck where everyone brings their favorite dessert and it's a night of drinking and sweets. I opted out this time, as I don't think I'm quite strong enough for that yet after a little more than a week on the program. I hope that over time as I get used to the big changes in my diet and strengthen my "just say no" muscle that I will be able to see events like that as purely social and go and enjoy the people and atmosphere, but I'm not there yet. Right now everything still seems to be about food for me, but I'm working on it!

Hang in there, it gets better! I think it is wise to know where you might be weak and then avoid....maybe next time you will feel stronger and head out with a plan! As you see the pounds fall off....it also strengthens your resistence muscle. And skinny ALWAYS tastes better than cheating!!!!

I had it when I was younger - my Mom was always adventurous with foods! Hope you like it.

Sounds like you did the right thing - important to take care of you first and then venture out when you feel it is the right time.
