Default Tomorrow is the BIG DAY!

After months and months of waiting, my surgery date crept up on me. I can't believe my alarm is going off in 5 short hours, and off to the hospital I will go. It's scary to think that 6 months can pass so quickly. I'm nearly in my 30s!

Thank you all for all of your support through my waiting period! Keep me in your prayers tomorrow, and I will update asap!

Gina

Thanks everyone! I know your prayers helped because I am doing great! Yesterday was a different story. I was definitely having buyers remorse until we found a pain med that helped me. The gas is the worst! But today, I'm walking and smiling and loving life!!! Thank you for all your support. This is just the beginning of my journey, and I feel like this site has given me th courage to get this far.

remember, love, you're going to be SORE for awhile while you heal. It's the fact that you had surgery - and you'd hurt if you'd just had your gallbladder removed.

just take it one day at a time, and you'll be fine. SOOOO glad you're up and around!

It's always tough right off after any surgery, but good to hear you up and moving already!

Hello!!! I am doing well. I am doing much better than other posters yet much worse than others, so I'm beginning to realize that everyone heals at their own pace. I had the RNY. I have pain if I drink too much fluids, or if I walk for too long, and occasionally on standing or sitting. I had to call in a refill on my hydrocodone which was embarrassing for me. I don't want to be someone who just can't handle my pain. I'm beginning to realize, though, that I can handle it. I just handle it differently than others.

I start my Stage 2 tomorrow, and I'm nervous. I bought lots of different food with hopes of something agreeing with me right away. I actually tried pudding a few days ago, and it sat fine. It just sat FOREVER. So hopefully that won't be the case with whatever other protein I end up eating.

When they first introduced liquids to me in the hospital, I was overwhelmed by pain and the gigantic amount of barium they made me drink, and I almost felt like a failure by unable to drink enough that first day. It scared me away from broth and crystal light, and DEFINITELY protein. I'm going to approach tomorrow without fear, and we will just see how it goes.
