Is there a certain event that you're trying to lose weight for?
Is there a certain event you're trying to lose weight for? Or a certain event that you'd like to lose a certain amount of weight for?
Of course, I'm trying to get healthy and lose weight for the long haul. But, I do have certain things that I'd like to lose weight and look great for.
In about a week & a half I will see my fiancé again (out of town for 30 days for work).....this is the next one coming up. Also, his bday is in October and I'd love to be able to look great and dress up when we go out to celebrate then.
My sister is overweight too. She is getting ready to have a weight loss surgery. I'm happy for her in some ways (but it is medically necessary for her). I know this sounds awful because I kind of dread her losing a lot of weight. What if I don't lose weight? What if I'm jealous when she starts getting so many compliments? I feel so guilty for thinking those things..... But, my sister is beautiful, the best person I know, and deserves to be thin and healthy and happy, and deserves all the compliments in the world. I just don't know what is up with me sometimes...
I am pregnant at the moment and I am due in November so the plan for me is for our holiday to Disney World in june next year. So it will give me 7 months after the birth to go to target.
Take off baby weight to date I have about 2 stone 3 pounds still to lose.
My DBF is having a family reunion on Labor Day, and his sister and husband are coming up from Florida to attend. She is "miss perfect" and comes from a family with NO butts or thighs but believes she looks that way because of her wonderfulness or something. She is over 50 and has never had kids so really knows nothing of what it takes to get a waist/flat tummy back again. So vain she actually joined Weight Watchers because she had 6 (count 'em 6) pounds to lose to get to her high school weight of 103 (she is 5'0). I think if I was attending her meetings I'd throw cookies at her or something.
I'm 5'8 and feel like an elephant next to her. Would love to get to about 150 by the time of the event and be able to wear a cute outfit or sundress!
One of my first "motivational events" is coming up. On Saturday, my fiancé will be back home (he has been out of town for a month). So, I have been keeping that in mind. (Not all in the last 30 days...) but I have lost 19 lbs. so far. I have picked up some good habits (improved over the past 30 days) and have made a lot of improvements over the past 30 days. I better be able to continue after he comes home No excuses!!
I'm going on a beach vacation with family in August - including my size 8 sister. I was smaller than her once... when I was at my lowest and she had a young baby and was still working on the baby weight. She couldn't stand that I wore a smaller size than her! I won't be back to size 8 by the trip, but I will do what I can!
I've never really had too much sibling rivalry. But, I have had that kind of rivalry with a couple of my closest friends. I'm not sure how they felt when I lost weight, but I was so jealous when they would lose some. Sometimes it even made me more stressed and it triggered my emotional eating. But, now I have to remind myself to just focus on me and not compare myself to them. Talk about a hard thing to do!
i am going to aruba in September for my wedding so IDEALLY i would love to go down close to 20 lbs by then. Next goal is my sister's wedding in April next year and then my brother's wedding in September next year.
Attending the wedding of a high school friend in October and I'd really like to be able to fit into cute dresses. Our families are very close and I have a lot of events to attend. To be honest, I want to lose weight though mostly because of the pictures! I usually feel pretty confident until I see pictures of myself after these kinds of events.
I do wish I'd gotten serious a little earlier! I think my goal might be pretty lofty (15-20 lbs in 6 weeks), but I'm going to try.
Mostly I'd love to get my arm fat not looking so lumpy. It's another one of those new things with the 30s! I've just read to eat well and do cardio for arms. I plan to add arm exercises with small dumbbells, but it seems like that won't necessarily target the fat on the arms. Any advice???
Jerzygal, I'm sure glad I wasn't the only one thinking like this. I have vacation in 6 weeks and I too would like to be 15lbs down but I will accept 10lbs. I started Monday of this week and it has sure been a struggle to keep going, but I will not give up. Good luck to you. I know we can pull it off!
