Height: 6 foot 2

Default OK for guys too?

Is this forum for the babes only, or guys as well?
(I mean "babes" as a term of endearment)

You know the story... as I've aged I'm now working long hours in an office and have gained about 90 pounds I need to get rid of.

I'd really like to start by focusing on training myself to eat right as well as walking about an hour a day.

Any good resources available here on exactly what to eat that is nourishing yet low fat?

Welcome KM Richards - It's always nice to have another man join.

There are forums for age groups, areas, and diet plans. There's even a Men's Corner where we occasionally grunt at one another.

Look around and find the places you're most comfortable.

And good luck on your journey to better eating and better exercise.

really its all about portion sizes whether its healthy food you are eating or not. I lost 25 pounds eating pasta, chips, French fries, pizza, ice cream. does it take self control? of course. but over time small portions will feel second nature. when I first started never did I think I could feel full on half a cup of tuna or 1 cup of pasta but I did and I still find that hard to believe sometimes. so best of luck to you! you will get there and it will feel great

There are many ways to lose weight. You'll have to play around and see what works for you. Some people calorie-and-portion count. Some people do lower carb, higher fat/protein. Some people do intuitive eating. Some folks bounce around as they go. We've got one guy that eats low carb, primarily fish/seafood as his protein. I'd suggest lurking the forums to see what eating styles seem to make sense to you and go from there!

Welcome!
