Yes, I should have been more clear. I meant the shakes. They are very good! You can add some cinnamon to the vanilla ones, and they taste like a snicker doodle. Or add some orange flavoring and it tastes like a dreamsicle.
I found some almond joy coffee flavoring that I add to the chocolate shakes. YUM!
Any ideas for gluten free chocolate shakes? Every time I go to a gluten forum people are always saying they drink protein shakes, but don't seem to tell the brand. Or if they do I find that there is conflicting information on ingredients. It's really been a daunting experience trying to find gluten free things.
I've only tasted the Chocolate Spirutein but it tastes so good! almost like a chocolate malt shake, I could probably eat the powder alone but I know I shouldn't lol
I can't imagine any protein shakes having gluten in them? Normal forms of protein are whey (milk), soy, hemp, brown rice and pea. I've seen some with chia and quinoa as well. I'd be surprised if any protein shakes had gluten in them. Right now, I am using vegan shake ology(1/2 scoop) in the morning with berries and soy milk. I wouldn't recommend it just based on price but I got it as part of a deal.
Thank you for the information about whey protein. I have been using "Wonder Slim" for two weeks and was looking for a "clean" alternative, that I could add my own sweetener ( stevia) and coco or fruit to. I found one on Amazon that is sold by Bulk Supplements. It will arrive in a few days time. I will then be able to compare.
Designer Whey RTD is my grab & go. 10.5 oz, 100 cal, protein 18g; fat 2g; total carb 5 g fiber 2g. Vanilla or choc, both taste good. certified gluten-free.
Yikes I was about to post saying it was sweetened with Truvia, but just read the label--sucralose. I don't know why I thought it was Truvia. Anyway, it's a lot less sweet than, say Muscle Milk or the Cytosoprt Whey powder that Costco sells.

I like Spirutein, have been a fan for years. I use rice milk with it due to lactose intolerance. Also for me it works best to make a smoothie with some frozen fruit in the blender, because I've grown a bit more sensitive to soy these days and can get IBS symptoms if I just mix the powder and the ricemilk alone. I was doing that for awhile and realized it didn't agree with me.
I like to make a "pina colada" one with the vanilla and some pineapple and coconut, and various red berry variations with the strawberry or raspberry ones.
