Good morning all! I have a baby shower to attend this afternoon. I know I will stay on plan. My hope is that I'm not miserable and feeling deprived while doing it. That would be true progress.
With my weight loss slowing down, I'm working hard to keep my head in the game.

Have fun at the baby shower! Remember, the reason for the get together - to celebrate the upcoming arrival, not to eat. So station yourself away from the food, make sure you have something OP with you to eat (volunteer to take a veggie tray!) and enjoy the company. You can do this and have fun at the same time.

Good morning!

We are in the same boat, my dear, and we can do this!! I have a baby shower at noon being hosted at a local restaurant. I have no idea what they will serve, but I feel confident there will be some sort of veggies and healthy choices (I hope). I am maintaining pretty well, but don't really want to indulge today.

Did my toning workout, had two eggs for breakfast, and I am feeling strong! Let's tackle this day and celebrate those babies!

My NSV. DH and I went on an overnight getaway and he forgot his belt. I am past the last hole on mine and though it might fit him, but my pants would fall down if I gave it up. We went into a regular store and I was looking at the men's belts for a new one for me. The salesperson came and told me the women's belts were across the aisle. I quietly said that they weren't likely to fit me. She very nicely said, "oh I don't know about that, have a little faith." So I went over and tried. It fit! It was still XL but it went around me

As much as I look forward to never shopping in Plus stores, I also look forward to not being the largest size in the regular ones, but right now, I am ecstatic with the shopping options that have opened up for me.

Well despite set backs, stress and 2 weeks of things happening most people can't imagine having to deal with, I managed to stick to plan (other than an accidental eating of some slivered almonds that I tried my best to counteract by eating the lowest carb IP products). I am so excited today.... not quite to wonderland but I will be there before my vacation in a week. Woke up at 202.8!!!

GREAT JOB ChipNDip - you have done well are deserve the rewards!

I think I have to admit that my greatest pleasure in having lost weight is shopping. I can't say it was fun before because I could not find anything to buy! I can look in the mediums for tops now and still 14's on the bottom.

Weighed in for the first time with my new, official, butt-kicking coach (thank you, RuthAnn) and lost 5 pounds! At this point in the game after 10 months, that is enough to send me into heaven...and provide motivation to do a really good job next week, too.

I am dreading the next few days as I induce ketosis again. I'm already stressed and have wicked allergy headaches. But, you've all been there and I will get through it.

Food so far has been on plan today. I am using an extra packet, at least for the first few days to adjust. I am also going to focus on my water and tracking my food.

Kellyc14, I'm not sure what form the sausage for the recipe was in, but I have managed to use spices and ground turkey to substitute for sausage in some recipes. I use things like garlic, paprika, red pepper, cumin, etc. It changes every time, so I don't have a real recipe that I use.

ChipnDip, that is awesome. Be sure to wear that belt on the outside of a top to make yourself smile!

AmberLS, glad to read shopping was exciting for you too!

Schenectady, way to go on the -5!!!!!!!

Attitude:

If I go to a party thinking I'm going to feel deprived. I will feel deprived.

If I go to a party taking what I need with me and focus on the relationships instead of the food, it'll be ALL GOOD.

Same with ketosis flu. If I think I'll be miserable, I will.
If I plan for how to make the best of it (extra naps, extra salt)...it'll pass quickly and I'll be good-to-go

Beck Diet Solution weekend tip:
If you’re going to a barbeque or a party this weekend, consider adopting this guideline: Only eat it if it’s on your plate. Grabbing handfuls here and there from big bowls makes it extremely difficult to keep track of how much you’re eating. If you’re deliberate about putting everything on a plate and then (sitting down to) have it, you’ll be much more accountable and aware of everything you eat. It helps!

Happy weekend everyone! About to hit the mall with my mom. Not planning to buy anything but I'm going to see if I can fit into a size 14 pants (I have been a size 16 for years). Fingers crossed!

I have been craving a berry smoothie lately. I bought some silken tofu at the store this week, and was thinking of blending it with either the Blueberry Cran Granata drink or the Wildberry drink to thicken it up and maybe adding some spinach. Has anyone tried something like this? I've seen silken tofu milkshakes with IP puddings, but I would really love something fruity!
