I bought some bubbies pickles, my local grocery store carries them in their organic/natural section. I really don't like them. Boo! Actually not all sauerkrauts are fermented.
Many are made with vinegar & then are pasteurized, which kills any beneficial bacteria. The only ones that are naturally fermented wouldn't have vinegar in the ingredients and would need to be in a refrigerated case at the grocery.
Bubbies makes a naturally feremented sauerkraut. And then I found a recipe to make my own at home, which is easy and much less expensive.
