Good frosty morning with a pretty sunrise.

Not sure what the day will bring. I am off to the vet with my darling Disney who seemed a bit more lively yesterday but is not very perky today. I hope it's not a one way trip for her but ... Since she is a Katrina Rescue, Mardi Gras might be the day to go over Rainbow Bridge. We'll see what the vet thinks.

Two people have texted me already asking if I still have any maple syrup since it's Pancake Day. Luckily I have a little stash from last spring. The guys are getting twitchy to get tapping trees. Usually the run is already started but not this year. Too much snow to get into the woods and the trees are frozen so hard that inserting the spiles could crack them.

Not sure if I'll have pancakes for supper tonight. I do have some pork chops marinating - one for tonight and one for the freezer. I am not eating properly these days and my body is showing it. I have to perk it up before my dental surgery which I hope happens soon.

On we go, trudging through Tuesday.

In just 3 more weeks, it will be time for the Cherry Festival in our nation's capital! I wonder if the trees know it? And next weekend, we set our clocks ahead for an extra hour of daylight! Spring IS coming!

Back to the present, the roads are very icy this morning and I'm going to wait until the sun (!!!) works on them before I venture out. I did make it out to the farm yesterday without too much fuss, thank goodness, and I made sure I came back home while it was still light out.

Beth, you have inspired me to get a bulb garden for my kitchen windowsill. I have a pot of tulips there now, but the flowers are past their bloom and now it's just a pot of stems.

Let's get on with this Fat Tuesday, Chickies, and don't take that literally!

Oh Ruth, I hope Disney feels better soon, no matter what the outcome. It's amazing what those silly fuzzy creatures do to our souls.

Nothing exciting for me today - long day of work. I was going to sleep in since I was so tired last night, but woke up anyway I got myself on the bike. Glad I got that in today, it always makes me feel better and I've been stressed out lately.

That moroccan tagine was so yummy last night, I can't wait for lunch!

Disney and I are home. Guess it's not time yet. She has had a thorough exam, a shot of antibiotic, some other tests and a full bloodwork panel ordered. She has a few more miles left on her, I hope.

Cold today with snow this afternoon. I'm happy for the extra daylight but now can I have warmth too?? Anyone see the pictures of Niagara Falls frozen over?

It's Mardi Gras so I'm probably going to have an extra piece of dark chocolate tonight. What an exciting life I live!!
