SO here is my third post of the day! I'm so sorry that I've been very quiet lately, I'm not usually so quiet as most of you may know. I've been a bit under the weather, in fact I'm at home with a sinus infection today and slightly whiney and complainy.
The reason that I've been quiet is that I'm actually 13 weeks pregnant. !! I kept it pretty quiet from anyone but my family and my most very close friends. I know a lot of people off line that read this forum so now that it's kinda out there I can now post on here. I'm super excited to be pregnant and managed to have only gained 4 lbs in my first trimester. Watching it slowly creep up is a little tough but it's all good and totally temporary. The biggest thing that I whine about now is the sinus infection. My worst fear was to get a sinus infection while pregnant because I cannot take my usual drugs for it (anytime I get a cold I get a sinus infection, it totally sucks). I've asked VIP more then once during the last couple of days "do you feel sorry for me? please feel sorry for me cause it makes me feel better cause I can't have my advil sinus night time!" lol I continue to make him laugh at least.
As a review the last year of my life, I am amazed that in one year I went to Scotland, became engaged, got married and got pregnant. I truly am blessed!
Hugs to you all, this forum is my saving grace I will try to be around more...first trimester is over perhaps the glowing will start at anytime? LOL
Later Skaters!

Love, love, love your pictures! What pure happiness you project, both in your posts and in your photos. I love the picture of you two with the breath taking landscape.
Congratulations on your pregnancy. It is a wonderful time in your life and you will look back and miss it at times. I was quite sick during each of my three pregnancies, so I feel for you with the morning sickness (why is it named that? mine was all day! lol.)
What a wonderful year you have had! It is so great that you can enjoy it and revel in your good fortune as well.

Congratulations Ishbel! Your wedding pictures are great!
Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't posted for a while. I still read this thread. Maintaining is going well for me. It is a lot of work and I can't seem to eat too much but as long as I keep it off. I don't do many carbs at all and I use MFP all the time. I've settled at about 5 lbs more than my lowest but it seems where my body wants to be at. Still in size 4-6 which sure beats my old 22's! I met my goal last December but stayed on P1 until the New Year so I am coming upon one year of maintainence, can't believe it! I became a Grandma in August and am LOVING it! Shout out to LizRR, congrats on your new baby! I would have to look back at the names but I miss a lot of the people that were on the diet and posting regularly when I was like, Wuv, LizRR and Scorbett (where are you?) and many more. I hope everyone is doing well.
Sorry for the me post. I'll try to post more often.

2x congrats! As to sinus infection: Try a commercial salt wash. Make sure you use sterile water. I am plagued by sinus inflammation and this helps. It may also help if your problem is bacterial.

Maintenance is still going well for me. I too don't eat too many carbs but I'm ok with that.

Hi everyone. I don't know if you remember me, but I've been on and off maintenance since 2/2013. I was about 15 lbs from my goal when I found out I was pregnant and I phased off quickly. I had a miscarriage but stayed on maintenance since we were actively trying. I had another miscarriage in May. Since then I have gained about 13 lbs in total from Feb. I have done a reset, lost 8lbs and and as soon as I hit maintenance again, I gain it back. I had a consult with an infertility specialist and all of my hormone levels are normal, so I don't have hypothyroid or PCOS. I basically eat a P3 breakfast and fat with lunch, carb with dinner. Snacks are fruit, low fat cheese sticks, turkey and Swiss roll ups, peanuts. My coach cannot figure out why I keep gaining and not staying within a range of 5 lbs. I also do a P1 day after a fun day, and I have made the fun day a fun meal instead of a whole day. I have slowly added back exercise, since I have had a back injury that only left me able to walk, slowly. I am playing tennis now and I've started back at the gym with light weights and 30 min of cardio 2-3 times per week.
I am so discouraged right now. I chose this diet and spent so much money on it because it had a great maintenance plan for long term. I feel like such a failure. I know some of this is portion control, and I do like to bake, and even though I don't eat the finished product, I do occasionally sample the batter. Is that enough to make me gain weight?
My coach thinks I am sensitive to carbs and should follow a mostly P3 plan with a fun meal once per week. That's my next step. I am not really happy about it, because I love my fruit and wish I didn't have to restrict it to once daily. I understand bread, potatoes and pasta being somewhat unhealthy, but fruit being restricted goes against my internal feelings lol.
Anyone else have or had this problem? How did you deal with it?

Hi EPAPRN,
So sorry to hear of your miscarriages, have a few friends dealing with this, it can be so stressful.
I'm sure it doesn't make it easy on your body also.
As far as maintaining I realized I am very carb sensitive, I've been following
the Paleo lifestyle and its been working great. I do only have one to two peices of fruit a day or I see an increase slightly on the scale,
I know its crazy, but it comes down to being carbs(sugar), natural or not, ugh! Probably causing inflammation more than fat.
And I love my fruit too.
One day at a time, hang in there! You'll figure out what will work for you.
D
