Default Aspartame .... ?

Ok so I drink 1/2 a gal or so of lemonade crystal lite. And my fam drinks the other 1/2. Honestly for me it's that or nothing. I have a very hard time drinking anything other than that. So what are y'all's opinion on it.

Don't despair for the answers, you only waited 2 hours from your first post! I know I've only been on here sporadically today.

Anyway, my personal opinion is that 2 liters (1/2 gallon) of anything other than pure water is excessive. I'm an anti-sweetener person, because I get headaches and heartburn from it, usually makes me bloated too. I really don't think that anything chemically made like that can be good for your body long term, but I'm no expert of course! 2 liters of a sugary soda/drink isn't much better of course.

Thanks for the input. I'm just wondering what's worse aspartame or very little fluid intake. I've looked it up and there are tons of "side effects" I'm just wondering how many of these are proven

Proven or not, it's really your decision based on how you feel and what you've read and chosen to heed. I have my own personal beliefs that with the onset of "diet" and processed foods in general, people have become more diseased. This is based on my readings and attitude towards chemicals in our food and drinks.

Why does it have to be a choice between aspartame and little fluid intake? Sparkling water with some lime juice is a nice drink. Cold water on ice is very refreshing. Herbal teas are great without any sweeteners, hot or cold. Coffee or decaf if you don't use cream or sugar....Little fluid intake also leads to a host of medical problems.

I haven't found anything else I like to drink in any way shape or form. If it's left to anything other than crystal lite I just wouldn't bother. I'm very seldom "thirsty" so I usually have to make a conscience secession to Drink

I've tried Splenda, but I get headaches from that one too. Stevia is a nice alternative, but I guess I was used to sugar too long, I never found it sweet enough, and I don't like the aftertaste, but I guess one could get used to it. I also use maple syrup to sweeten things, in fact, I put a little teaspoon of maple syrup in my skim milk, it adds about 25 calories, but I allot for it if I feel like a sweet drink.

Hi there! Aspartame is completely toxic to your brain!!

Please Google this article... "Former FDA Investigator Exposes Aspartame As Deadly Neurotoxin That Never Should Have Been Approved"

Your health is worth so much more. Could you try water with some REAL squeezed lemon juice and a spoon of honey in there to sweeten it? ANYTHING is better than artificial sweetener!! Good luck!
