Red face Constipation

I am on day 13 and have been doing well, drinking all my water and eating veggies. I do have a small issue. This may be TMI however, for the past week I haven't had a bowel movement. I don't even feel an urge to go. I weigh in tomorrow and I'm concerned this is going to effect my loss. Do any of you have advise or have you been through this? HELP!

It's very common eating the large quantity of protein that you are. You can use colace for a non stimulant softner to help out. Relax and don't stress about your not going and your weigh in. If it does effect it then you will have a different weigh in after you go.

It seems almost everyone encounters something similar sooner or later. Apparently the colon can hold up to 10 lbs so constipation can definitely affect the scale. I used magnesium citrate oral liquid a couple of times for relief within a few hours. After that, I used Smooth Moves peppermint tea every day.

Default Smooth Move

I also drink Smooth Move tea a couple times a week. In addition to peppermint there is a chocolate flavor It doesn't appeal to me but you might like it.

I have been the same way since starting. Took a gentle laxative last week, but I didn't want to resort to that. Wasn't having pain or anything, just felt like I should be going more. My coach gave me a box of Senna tea. I drank it once last week and it really helped. Then I went 3 or 4 days again without going. The last 3 days, I've finally become more regular. It'll even out eventually, but since you're eating less, you'll go less. Others on here have told me, that as long as you aren't cramping or in pain, you're probably fine. I'd recommend the tea, though. I'm with you...I'm afraid of it affecting the scale.

I have had this problem since starting. I take magnesium citrate everyday. I might switch it up to the smooth move tea if that works (and according to other comments it might). My MD suggested using a stool softener but that isn't the issue, my system just doesn't "move it along" (I know TMI, but this whole thread is TMI. LOL). My MD said not to worry about it taking 3-4 days for any "action" as long as you weren't in pain/bloated/etc. I'm not willing to take it to the scale so I use the mag citrate.

You might ask your coach if a cleanse would help. I have done one a couple months ago, but I am getting ready to do another.

I'm, personally, not a fan of the Smooth Move tea.

Yes it works but it's a stimulant. Eventually your colon will get lazy and you won't be able to go without it.

I would proceed with caution and, of course, make sure you're using all your oil, and getting plenty of lettuce and water in your day.

I take Natural Calm each night. It's a magnesium citrate powder flavored like pink lemonade. I mix 1 tsp in 6oz water - it helps with relaxing me before bed too. So two benefits for me.

It's available on amazon, I container lasts me a long while.

I had the same problem at first - now when I feel its been too many days without a BM, I take my 4 cups of veggies & 8 oz of meat for the day and make soup with some low sodium chicken or vegetable broth. I eat it for lunch and dinner. Nothing like a day of cabbage/leek/mushroom/chicken soup to lube your pipes! Good luck!

I am having this issue as well since the beginning. Drinking Smooth Move tea every night and haven't gone since Saturday! My first week weigh in was today and I was only down 4 lbs. My coach said its because of the big C and told me to freeze spinach in baggies and once a day have an extra cup of spinach blended up with my 'drink' snack instead of having puddings... she said then drink on this all day long and see if that helps. In addition to Smooth Move of course. Fingers crossed that it works!!

ang2576, down 4 lbs is an awesome WI! at your height and weight, I would say quite Excellent!

I just use a few grains of sencha added to my tea and it works great, this is a problem on IP, since never in my 56 yrs. did I have this problem. lol

I WI tomorrow too, didn't look too promising this am, we shall see.

Good Night All

For some, the amount of iron in spinach binds people up.

Thanks Bellamack!! I have a really bad habit of comparing myself to my husband because he is on IP again - first time he lost 55 in 3 months!! I am so competitive I hate that he is losing so fast this time around again! 10 lbs his first week!
I will try the Sencha - where do you find that?

Thanks again!

Do you have a place that sells "loose" tea? Like TEAVANA? or Wegmans grocery store in their Healthy section? It works super well, so be careful how much you use.

Those men, my hubby just cuts out ONE of his daily snack and loses more than I do being super strict..... hmmmm. NOT FAir. lol

We will do this
