Like others in this thread I have attempt Atkins in the past, lost a great deal of weight, and have come back after gaining some of it back. I lost 80 lbs several years ago and have binge eaten my weight back up 30 lbs.
I am 40, I have been told that as you age you drop the weight slower. I also know from my own experience, you do not drop pounds as fast the second time around..it becomes harder but can work. Atkins is easy to follow if you can control yourself and eat the healthy foods that are allowed.
The reports on Atkins, ignore them. I have gotten to the point where I look at msyelf and say Atkins improved my life, lost weight, got health, exercised, didn't suffer from depression, and had a healthy relationship with food. A couple years of not following Atkins, weight is up 30 lbs, I am not exercising, not eating enough healthy veggies, not drinking water, and depressed. I also am just run down, sicker more often, and no energy. I know Atkins works, its just been so terribly difficult for me to stick to ANY eating plan lately without binge eating.
