Default Anyone else feeling very weak on IP??

I've been doing really well, loosing 36lbs in 12 weeks but this week I've been feeling kind of funny. I get woozy when I bend down to tie my sneakers. I get short of breath when I rush around the office. I've been falling asleep on the couch at 7 like I did during my first week on IP.

I'm taking ALL my supplements as scheduled (my multi is even more potent than the IP multi), but I still feel funny. OH, and I'm not preggers.

Anyone experience this??? Is it time to visit the doctor or should I just have a 4th packet?

Yes, I had times where I felt like that, almost like the first week or so when I was just getting into ketosis. I was going to suggest eating extra protein; hard boiled eggs! lol. Great minds think alike.

I think this is an important lesson. You are learning to listen to your body and give it fuel. You will see that there are times when your body needs more protein. I am amazed at how my body needs protein and I never recognized that before starting IP.

Not to be TMI, but on my first day of TOM - I felt the same way. I struggled with feeling hungry all day and also felt slightly weak/out of it too. I drank an extra EAS shake and for a split second, almost felt guilty for not staying completely on plan. It took me a good minute to realize I was crazy and part of this plan is to really learn to listen and get in tune with your body. I woke up this morning feeling so much better so I am thinking the extra protein helped too. Good call to eat the eggs!

I am no doctor - but are you on high blood pressure medication? I am, and my doctor told me to be aware of these types of symptoms, it may mean a need to reduce or eliminate those meds. As the weight goes down, the med may be pushing blood pressure TOO low.

Also, are you on any diabetes medicine. I got really weak about the second week into IP. I checked my blood sugars and they were in the 50's!!! WAY too low. I immediately made an appt with my dr and he pulled me off my meds right away.

AliExpat - I am far from an expert on this but I did experience this myself while on IP in about month 2+. It did worry me so I just made sure that I was taking all the pills and salt. I ramped up the calories just a bit with my choices and made sure I was getting fats and more protein.

It went away almost as quickly and mysteriously as it came so maybe that is reassuring?

Oh one more thing...are you hypothyroid? If I take my IP vitamins at breakfast, it makes me really tired (interferes with my thyroid meds), so I have to take them at lunchtime.

GHN~Not on any meds. I ate the eggs and had a Nuun tablet (electrolytes) and I felt better, but sleepy. Meeshellee~My Mom is Type 2 diabetic and I know she gets the same way after a low blood sugar episode. I had some soup and finishing my salad now.

dak/schenectedy~I got scared for a minute because I could understand this happening at the beginning of the program but I didn't expect it now. Thanks for confirming that it's normal.

I believe it is a sign or low blood sugar. Make sure you are getting all of your sodium. It does help even if you have your salt in the morning with warm water.
