Default Getting over The Hump Wednesday, 10/30

There's nothing like hot coffee to warm me up on this cold morning. I think with nighttime temps dipping into to the 20s, it's time to turn the heat on in the house. It's downright cold in here!

Can you believe this month is almost over already? The kids are all excited about Halloween tomorrow and anxiously watching the weather since it may rain, but I don't think that will stop them from going out. IMHO it just adds to the atmosphere!

I'm going to spend this morning baking banana and pumpkin breads for the Hunt, and then going up to Susie's this afternoon for more packing until it's time to pick up the girls and take them to their riding lessons where I can drop them off and head on home for an early night.

How's your day shaping up? Grab a coffee and come sit and chat before starting the day.

Do you get to taste and make sure the bread is okay, Cottage?

Well chicks, I walked downstairs to the main level this AM to get coffee started, and...my kitchen is flooded. "MMMMAAAAACCCCCCC". He sure was annoyed I was bothering him so early, then realized why. Holy cr@p. But I still check in with you guys! Needless to say, DH is taking the day off to clear the line and make sure everything is okay. I'll get the kids up in a minute and get them out and go to work myself. We've already sucked up all the water, cleaned out the corner cabinet that flooded (stinkin' thing never closes), and pitched whatever was destroyed. It went thru to the basement as well, hopefully that won't have an impact but we'll get someone to look at it.

That's a way to start your day energized, right?

Oh, Tammy, what a horrible way to start your day! I hope it's nothing major and an easy fix! And, no, I don't sample any of the breads. I make them so often that I'm not tempted in the least to nibble.

Oh no, Tammy! That was a rude awakening. What caused the flood?

Linda, I didn't realize you turned your furnace OFF. Wrap yourself around that coffee. Hold it the Canadian way, as Beth says.

Survived the doc visit yesterday and the ribs are nearly healed. Got the OK to get back to the gym and got a short lecture about getting bloodwork done every three months. Weight was not discussed except for him saying "You know what to do so just do it!"

Taking Melinda out for breakfast this morning. She had half a lung removed and is going stir-crazy at home. She is insisting she'll be well enough to do the area Christmas Toy Drive and I have a sneaking suspicion she is going to ask me for help. I may beat her to the punch and volunteer for the wrapping part of the campaign.

I absolutely MUST go to town and buy Halloween stuff after we have breakfast. Yes, I'll stay away from the Chinese Buffet and Fabricland!

Have somewhat humpless day, Chickies, and get a little bit excited about Halloween. (I found my witch hat yesterday and am going to dress up to do door duty. Good thing I have lots of black clothing.)

Good morning,

Tywnn oh no that is a horrible way to wake up hopefully no major damage

Cottage sounds like you have a busy day

Ruth glad to hear your ribs are almost completely healed.

Yesterday all went well with appointments and I even avoided looking at work emails all day of course now I have a ton to respond to today.

Tonight nothing going on other than watch World Series on tv to see if the Cardinals can manage to stay in the game or not.

I cannot seem to go an entire day op yesterday made it until evening and then some chips I caved in to did me in- so here is to trying today. I may have to do another round of phase 1 to get back on track but hoping I can just turn it around without.

Have a wonderful day everyone!!!

Good morning Late night so groggy morning fly by

Tammy - hope it's something inexpensive to fix and there's no additional clean-up. What an awful way to wake up.

Ugh, waiting for that nasty stuff to stop floating around out there before I head out. It's not time for my winter tires yet!

Good morning at the mechanics with the truck Ouch this is going to cost me. Since I am no car expert by any means I took it to Joe's friend. Still going to cost me an arm and a leg, but at least I can trust who is doing the work. Guess I won't be turning down ANY overtime for awhile lol

Didn't post yesterday crazy busy week. My day Monday ended with me ejecting a disorderly female off the train. So much for a peaceful commute home. Yesterday was spent on the phone all day at work. We are picking our jobs and vacations for next year. The cops are first so I got that fun filled task assigned to me. By the end of the tour I thought my eyes were going to fall out lol

Tomorrow I am having a laser procedure to close leaky valves in my leg. I need 4 procedures in total. This should help alleviate some of the pain and swelling I get. Joe is taking me since I will be loopy on Valium.

Happy to be off for a few days even if they are not relaxing. Still staying out of the Halloween candy so life is good and OP.

Have a great day

Tammy I hope Mac was able to fix the plumbing. Not a fun way to start the morning at all.

Linda I have not broken down and put the heat on yet either.

Good morning

I've been feeling on the down side. My dentist sent me to an implant specialist and the answer is $$$. Dh says we can work around it and to look on the bright side its not something fatal. No wonder I have been married to that man for almost 45 years. I too am baking quick breads and the wonderful part is I wrap them up and bring them to a bake sale
Wow tammy waking up to a flood is not a good way to start the day
Everyone else have a great day
Take care

Hi all! Look, I managed to remember to post when it's still morning!!! I was up at 4:30a and debated starting us up. But then I forgot, went back to bed and woke up at 9a. Tomorrow is the big interview! I hope I get this job.

I am sorry Tammy! I hope that it's an easy fix.

Have a good one all

Hi!
Sitting in a waiting room in Denver while mom has eye spots. Then a few chores before heading back home. I'm taking a day off from the project. My DH "quit" so it will be me and his DD unless he reconsiders. Lol

Tammy, hope its fixed!

Sophie, a shock, but it will all work out.

Take care everyone!

Tammy, hope it was a quick fix!

Ruth and Cyndi, did either of you see that white stuff this morning? I checked the thermometer when I got up, but it was too dark to see. I was counting on spending time scraping frost but the inch of white stuff brushed off quickly! Ugh. Too soon for that. At least it melted by mid-day.

Cottage, we haven't turned on the furnace, but last week DH had to start up the wood stove. If we fill it once in the evening it holds the chill at bay pretty well (until the real cold sets in)

Jennifer, sounds like the wrong kind of ending to your day!

Jenne, good luck with the job interview!

Have a good evening, all.
