Good morning!
Wow - after I started typing I looked up and there was Lisa's new pic -
You look fantastic Lisa!! BEE-U-TEE-FUL! I hope you feel as good as you look.
I am going in search of Spry gum today. I have never looked for it before. Is it available most places?
Good morning everyone. Weighed in this morning. I am down 6 lbs for the week and a total of 42 in six weeks.
I started back running last week. Has anyone tried the Couch to 5K program? I've been doing it about 3 years. Have started and stopped numerous times. Last year, I ran about 5 5k races. I enjoyed them a lot. I could not get myself motivated to do any this year with everything that had went on in life. Anyway, I started back last week and wow, what a difference. I felt like I was moving faster and was not nearly huffing and puffing like I had before.
Have a busy couple of weeks coming up. This week I have a baby shower to cake to make for my cousin and his wife. Anyone seen those baby butt or baby rump cakes? I am going to do one like that in a Halloween them. Yeah, I've never heard of a Halloween themed baby shower, but hey what do I know? I just make the cakes.
I am also planning my mother a 75th Birthday party the first weekend in November. Plans are coming along fine, but it's a lot of work. Be glad when it's done.

Princess, I too did a @Lisa double take and Lisa, you look beautiful; what a great picture. A high five and congratulations for all of the hard work and dedication has paid off. An inspiration to all of us newbies; you look stunning!
Princess Peacock - I found Spry gum at a local health food store. It was $0.99 for a pack and the taste lasts exactly 30 seconds. Haha. But, you gotta try it you may like it. Let me know what you think.

Everyone have a good week!
Hi Allend - congrats on the 6lb loss that's incredible; way to go!
I've heard of the app couch to 5k but I never checked it out; sounds like you really like it? That's great
A Halloween themed baby shower sounds like fun though, that's the first I've heard of, as well. Kudos for you for being able to make cakes and not indulge in the batter. That would be too tempting for me. You'll have to take a picture and share once it's frosted. Would love to see it.
Hi everyone, I am back in action! In Sept. I have emergency GI surgery and my doctor yanked me from IP (I had to eat toast, rice, and soft easy to digest foods, very little protein or veggies). It has been a crappy month waiting to get back on protocol (thinking of all of the weight I could have been losing) the upside is I gained zero weight, last week was my first week back on (and not an easy one) but I am glad to say I am definitely back in ketosis and today was just like before- a day where I saw the lowest number in a long time on the scale! My official weigh in is tomorrow (but due to clothes and stuff its always more than my home one), but I am so excited! I only update my ticker with the offical IP weigh in, but my scale today said 185.2! Once I am at 182 I have hit my first mini goal! Feeling great today
Thank you! I was so excited to get started again, I won't lie, the first few days back on with very very hard, but today I feel like a million bucks. I am ready to buckle down and get healthy!
My feeling this morning, thanks to Marcus Aurelius....
"When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive - to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love."
That is my thought as I have been going on this program - I want to wake up every morning thinking that way. When I was not eating well on IP, I woke up grumpy and angry that the world was not mine. Now it is and I enjoy every single day as I get healthier and healthier....not to mention skinnier since I hit -40 pounds today.
That just mirrors the successes already posted today, too many to mention. LISA you look soooooo wonderful with nice curves and trim lines. WOW!
lilkel - hang in there because once you are back in the swing of things you will fall into such an easy pattern of success. Glad to hear you are better.
Allend - what a great accomplishment. You must be walking on little happy feet today.
Lilkel, welcome back. Sounds like you have a great restart going.
Princess, I have also found SPRY at my local health food store. I actually chew Trident cinnamon. It seems to last a while, and no aspartame.
Allend, I have seen so many crazy themed baby showers. You should have fun getting creative with the theme. Congrats on your 6 lbs lost and 42 overall! In six weeks no less! Wow!
Hi everyone.
I'm feeling a little discouraged today even though logically I know I should be. I started ip two weeks ago today and I've seen my weight go down every day, even if its just a couple of ounces. Today for the first time I didn't see any movement on the scale and it got me a little down. Any words of wisdom for this newbie? Thanks in advance.

My advice is to not weigh everyday. I used to do that and it would get me down because a lot happens between your clinic weigh ins! I have found that I'm much happier without my scale and only using my clinic's scale! There are many many ladies on here who choose to weight everyday (sometimes multiple times a day) but you must not take that weight very seriously because of how much we fluctuate so much during the day. I can feel the weight coming off and that is enough satisfaction for me!

I happen to be one of those people who cannot take advice and cannot stay off the scale each morning.
That being said, wantanewme, if you are like me, then you need to remind yourself that the weight this morning does NOT correlate directly with what you ate yesterday. It is not a logical, predictable pattern due to hormones, fluid retention, salt, water intake and probably the phase of the moon!
So just hang in there, be patient and understanding of the unpredictable nature of weight loss. What IS important is that you are on the program, following it because then you are losing inches even if the weight that day does not reflect it.
Many of us have been through 'stalls' in weight and it can be very frustrating. If you must weigh every day, like me, then remind yourself that this is not a linear process and eating right, being healthy are the goals and the weight in pounds is just a general indication of that.
