I have a Withings scale. It's the expensive one that emails you when you haven't weighed in or suggests that you're not actually moving towards your goal. In summary, it's a JERK.

Today, they upgraded the web interface to tell you how much you've gained/loss over the last year and how close you are to your goal.

Mine said:
+32.2 pounds (this year)
0% progress towards goal

First, let's all just silently curse this party pooper of a scale. I hate you scale. HATE.

Second, let's all recognize how much the truth freaking hurts. OW!

My fat pants are officially so tight that I frequently change into pajama pants as soon as I get home. I look heavy. I am not comfortable. I know that I am not moving in the right direction and I wake up with new resolve that dissolves four hours later. I find I am easily slipping into ruts. And good habits (like running) that weren't paying off (hey, I can't run off all that food so why run at all?) have gone to the wayside.

It's time for a change. My scale knows it. My pants know it. I hope now *I* know it.

I am so with you. I am now at 241. I think my lowest was around the 220's somewhere, but that was a long time ago. I have done Medifast and Weight Watchers this year, and just gained on them. What's wrong with me?!

Anyway, time to think positive, and never give up. It is a journey after all. For me though, right now it seems up hill.

But coming back here, and looking at all the success stories and photos, means that it is possible, and I can do it too. We all can!!

I'm 243.8 this morning.. I just had the worst week weigh-in wise so far on my journey. There were a few days I didn't even try. I didn't go completely bonkers with food but I sorta threw caution to the wind. I guess I'm lucky I'm only up 1.8 or so.. I updated my ticker and I'm back to work full force.
A new 240 thread for a brand new week to get back on track. I like that.
We can do this! Just gotta never ever ever ever give up!

Thanks Only.

I am teetering between the 250's and 240's. Hopefully when the swelling goes down the scale will be on my side.

Not feeling nice today. Scale did not budge from 240.8. I think I jinxed myself when I posted in 230s. Next time I am going to wait at least 3 days to make sure the loss sticks. Haven't eaten over my calories or anything. Hopefilly tomorrow will be better.

Yesterday I ate so clean that you could do surgery on my food journal. And yet, I am up 2 pounds. BAH!

Just keeping on.

Anslie am sure you will be in the 230's in no time.

Goddess Jessica those two pounds will whisk away by tomorrow.

Rebelle I need some of that patience myself. lol

This is not my week. Sorry to whine, but my back is still sore. Better but not good. And now I have started cramping really bad from TOM. I feel tired, sore, and bloated. May just hold off on the scale for the a couple days. If I can resist looking.

Hope everyone else is having a better week.

I hate when you are typi g a post and lose it. Stupid phone. Anyway I discovered today that my weight loss goal of 135 is not attainable based on my lean body mass of 139.55. That's what I would weigh if I had no fat at all. I don't want to lose much muscle and I want a body fat of 21%. So I guess my new goal will be 170 lbs. Here is the calculation LBM/(1-ideal body fat). To find lean body mass = current weight - (current weight x body fat %).

I'd like to join. I'm at 243.6 this week. I've always been afraid of these 'weight threads' because I'm usually the one who never loses while everyone else around me drops weight like crazy. If I'm here maybe that means the rest of you will lose more.

Jessica, I think I would have taken that scale out back and shot it by now.

Mara, don't weigh this week. It won't make you happy!

Avi, I wonder 'what's wrong with me' also. I seem to be doing everything right but very little change/loss. Its hard to keep the positive attitude up, but your doing a good job, so maybe your attitude will rub off on me

Hi guys

It seems like a lot of us are having funky weeks, but it has to get better right?!

I was only officially in the 230s for 1 day. I've been really busy with sick kids over the past few days and couldn't find the time to log on. Plus, I'm really aggravated with dieting in general. My cousin and his wife are big Paleo advocates and I've decided I'm to give it a try for 30 days (until my birthday). I just want to see how differently I'll feel all over. Not just weight loss but mind and body healthy. I'm curious and have been following a blog for about a year now and she encourages Paleo eating as well. So here's her take on it in case anyone wants to read a little:

http://wellnessmama.com/1241/lose-weight-fast/

http://wellnessmama.com/575/how-grai...ng-you-slowly/
this is not her's but another I found very interesting last night:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhObSu7y2_A

I'm pretty worried about maybe having a gluten intolerance. Because since I've swapped to whole wheat everything, my skin is horribly broken out. I never had acne as a teen but I definitely have it all over now. It's embarrassing and just one more reason to feel upset. So I'm hoping low carb does wonders for me. I've been applying her basic wellness lifestyle suggestions throughout every other part of my life (making our own personal hygiene and cleaning supplies, no plastic, etc.), just not food wise. Today is day 1 and going fine. I think since I had already cut out so much maybe I won't have bad withdrawals.

ETA: 240.2 this am.

So I was on the scale before I knew what I was doing this morning. A little worried that it is now a habit to weigh every morning. But it was better than I thought, 248.4, but the week is not over yet.

It looks like quite a few of you ladies will be moving into the next decade soon.

I feel like I'm getting sick again. I've been Fall cleaning which has stirred up a lot of dust and its that time of year that pollen is everywhere so I'm hoping its just sinus stuffiness and nothing more serious.

Four days of meticulously tracking food (all around 1500 calories) and still no loss and the two pounds are still there. Argh.

Oh well, I have just got to trust that it will eventually fall off.

I am just getting over a cold. I ate like 6 cloves of raw garlic to help boost my immunity as soon as I felt it come on and then called in sick and spent the day in bed. I feel so much better today.
