Felling very discouraged even though I know I shouldn't be. Missed a couple BC pills last week which means (for me) TOM came EARLY - went to do my weigh in and of course its higher than normal because of all the water retention and whatever else - oh and now TOM wont go away .. Lesson learned TOM .. GODBYEEE!! Goodness

Good Morning!

A NSV for me; I am no longer wearing "granny-panties"!

I can't wait for my weigh-in tomorrow! I peeked at the scale this morning and it likes me this week!

My husband is wanting to do IP for a coulpe weeks to get rid of his "beer-gut", however he is in the military and does heavy exercise daily. I'm not sure how to go about this. I know that with light exercise, an extra packet is required, but what about high cardio exercise (running up and down ski hills) and heavy weight lifting?

This made me laugh Susie! One of my sisters told me this weekend to "just put on your big girl panties" and I could honestly tell her "I can't! I threw them all away!"

Just heard a great quote about diets that have "cheat" days:

"Rewarding someone who's overweight with food is a kin to an alcoholic celebrating a month of sobriety with a beer."

My husband is an exercise fanatic (Ironman triathlete) with a high metabolism and he still was getting a little belly. He didn't follow IP, but did eat whatever I ate for dinner, gave up diet coke and limited, but did not eliminate high carb foods. He lost 10 lbs and the pooch in about a month. So maybe your husband could do a modified meal plan with your support. Good luck!

I have come a long way in my weight loss journey. I have have many successes on IP -it works! What I am struggling with now is the fact that I am burned out and tired. I am 10 lbs from the goal my dr and I set, but I am seriously considering switching to phase 3 on the first of October even if I haven't hit it yet. Any feedback or suggestions?

Well, I'm excited to say, my little "shake up" worked! I am down 4.5 lbs today!!! That is huge for me!! After nothing last week and small losses the two weeks prior this feels SO good!

Keep drinking that water guys and gals. I now completely believe in it.

I have liked having dinner for lunch, so I plan to continue that for a while.

carressme -- Don't give that mean ole' TOM any power. Just keep doing what you're doing and, once it is gone, you will see a great loss. Stay strong!!

Have a great day, losers!!

For the most part he has been eating the same dinners as I have, except he uses regular dressings, sauces, and adds cheese or bacon bits to a salad, etc. He goes through phases where he will drink a lot of Coke, then he stops for a bit. I think his main thing is his night-time snacking. I will suggest he tries eating exactly what I do for dinner, and even having a protein shake before going to the gym in the morning. He always goes on an empty stomach and then eats breakfast (usually yogurt, fruit and cereal) when he gets home. Thanks for the advice!
