Default Lost the weight that I regained

I have weighed 197 for 2 days in a row, so I am calling it. I have relost the weight that I regained.

I want to thank everyone here. I don't believe I could have lost this weight without the inspiration and support of my friends here.

I hit this weight for the first time sometime in my 20s. I don't even remember exactly when that was but it was in the early 80s. I lost down to about this weight in 1997 but started working on my Masters, stress ate and started gaining. In 2010, I got down to this weight, dealt with my father's cancer, stress ate and started gaining.

I am a little afraid now. This is the smallest I have been in 30 years. Can I lose more weight? How will I deal with it if I do? Have I made the permanent changes that I need to make to keep it off? When great stress hits again, will I be able to avoid overeating? I don't want to have to keep losing the same pounds over and over. If I regain the weight again, I am afraid that I won't be able to walk because my knees are so bad.

So I am taking a deep breath and am continuing with my plan. I am stubborn and I am counting on that stubbornness to help me be persistent and keep working at one day at a time.

Woo hoo! You did it! Yeah for you!

Having regained up to 100lbs several times myself, I think the key is to never lose focus. This battle is NEVER over. No matter what life throws at you, your health and weight management is IMPORTANT. We must never shortchange ourselves. This battle is hard fought, and we're WORTH IT!

Way to go! I hope to be where you are one day.

Way to go! That is such a marvelous achievement -- and you're the one who is an inspiration to those of us with a LONG journey still to be traveled.

Will you have times of stress again. Yes. Will you succumb to stress eating -- hope not. And I know what you mean about your knees. Hopefully we've learned enough from doing this repeatedly that we need to do this permanently, not as a short term thing to get the weight off.

But for now, enjoy this accomplishment and take pride in all you've done. Good for you!

!!!!

You can do this! You might find the experience a little bit different this time around, maybe a little more reflective as you begin to reach new weights and notice your body changing in new and unknown ways, maybe a little more exciting, a little more cautious, etc. All the same, the process will stay the same. You've got this down pat. You can do it!

In terms of not regaining, it sounds like stress management is a central factor to this. I think this is a question mark most/all of us face, and something to figure out for sure. I know you can do it, though, and I wish you the best of luck! Keep us posted on your awesome progress!!

If regaining is an issue, being vigilant and not defaulting to old habits during stress is key. And there's no shortcuts there, just practice

Great Job! Such an inspiration. Just remember that you can keep the momentum going and every day is a new day and do the best that you can. That is all that anyone can ask of themselves. You are doing fantastic!

Thank you everyone! It is so wonderful to have this community to share with. There is no one in RL that I would talk to about this. I knew that you all would understand!
