Default NSV: Keep it Up Dude

I was out over the weekend doing my C25K run/walk.

A neighbor sent an email about 30 mins after I finished with the title I posted above.

Here is what he wrote: Your weight loss is noticeable. Keep it up! Let me know when you're ready for a 5k.

I don't know him that well but we have each other's emails and have seen each other at parties in the neighorhood now and then.

Anyhow it was nice to get an unprompted email.

I also just hit 250 which is huge for me. It was my original end of year goal starting on May 1.

I am right at 1.5 to 2 pounds lost a week on average. Plenty of days have been bad along the way. I just try to have more good days than bad and exercise most days. The exercise has been my constant and I am getting better and better at food. But in it for the long haul. So if it takes to next May 2014 for 220 or even beyond that I am ok.

And in the back of my mind I want to be 200. But no time for that at all.

I love it! I love that your neighbor took the time to give you props, that's really fantastic!

You're doing great and it really sounds like you've got your head on straight and are in a good place mentally and emotionally as well as physically! Keep up the great work, 200 will come to you if you just keep doing what you're doing! Like you said, no rush!

CONGRATULATIONS!

What a great compliment to unexpectedly receive -- although it sounds like it was well deserved!

Thanks all. It just happened again around 30 minutes ago. I was walking down a corridor at work and someone kind of did a double take and said come back here. She didn't ask have you been losing weight but she was like wow you have lost some weight.

So that felt nice and she asked me what I was doing.

I was so in a good mental place to start. I have a daughter who will turn 3 in September and I am 48 so I HAD to get healthy.

Beyond the looks EVERYTHING is so much better. More energy, mind is clearer, way easier to move, just feel so much better. If I somehow could have felt for a day what does feels like years ago, I am sure I would have committed to losing much sooner. But that is hard to do because our higher weights become our day to day reality when we are at them.

Thanks for the comment on 200 I think I will ge there also, be it in 2014 or 2015.
