Default 87.5 Pounds Down, 87.5 Pounds to Go!!

I just thought I'd introduce myself with where I am at right now. My name is Kyra. I am 23 years old and have dealt with obesity my entire life. My inspiration to "get it together" was the birth of my son in August of last year. Though I had become accustomed to my size, throwing away dreams of ever truly loving myself and the way I looked - his birth really served as a wake up call. I had delivered a perfectly healthy boy. But having maxed out at 350 pounds, I not only had put myself in danger but that of the life of my child. No piece of cake was worth that to me.

And then it slowly dawned on me - why did I think I was "stuck" this was forever? I was always healthy despite my weight and counted my blessings that I didn't have any debilitating disease or disorder. And then the guilt set in that only I was to blame for this. Only I had ever held myself back.

On December 3rd of 2012 (8 1/2 months ago) - I began eating differently. I had to find a "diet" that suited my love of good food. Long story short, I follow a blend of Atkins & The Primal Blueprint. In those 8 1/2 months, I have lost 87.5 pounds. An average of about 10 pounds a month! And I haven't even started thinking about exercise yet!! It wasn't easy, and it didnt seem quick in the day-to-day, but looking back, I am quite impressed with myself.

But now is when the going gets tough and I am going to need support - hence why I am reaching out to you all. I don't want to go at the second half of this journey alone. Friends are welcome!!

December 3rd, 2012 - 350 pounds
August 13th, 2013 - 262.5
