Why are all my friends posting pictures of fat and carb laden desserts? I am going to have to stay off of Facebook in the evenings because it makes me want to eat.
It's crazy the amount of recipes making the rounds on facebook with the "be sure to post this to your timeline so it saves". Still would rather see those than some of the other things posted.
I've started reading them with what I'd substitute. "Oh yeah, I can make an apple tart, I'd use honey though and I'd use...blah blah blah". It's helped me stop drooling so much.
I do HATE all of the food posts though. First it was the "take a pic of your food" craze and now it's "share a pic of someone else's food" craze.
Food porn?! Lol. I know what you're saying though. I go onto pinterest for some healthy recipes and then I see snickers cookies *drools* But then I just tweak the recipe a bit and make a healthier alternative to it We can do it with self control!
leecpieces91 - I appreciate the thought but I have tried the moderation route, tweaked recipes and tried to exercise self control. The fact is that sweets and carbs in general cause me to have cravings. I have to stay away from sweets and limit other carbs.

Hey, whatever you gotta do to help stay on track Congratulations on your weight loss journey this far though!
Yes! I'm sick of it! Not just the desserts, but pictures of really junky food made at home too. Mommies that pander to their children's preference for all the wrong stuff! I love the idea of responding with healthier ingredients. I have a couple friends that will only post food pics. I have removed them from my news feed.
I got so sick of all the food porn that I started posting photos of my veggies. Some people seem to like them.
I just hide the posts that I don't want to see. I don't have to leave snarky comments on their pictures because I can't see them. And I'm quick to hide someone who is a repeat offender. I have a friend who is always posting pictures of her healthy food as well. It's a little holier than thou for me so she's blocked too.
I haven't noticed much of food porn on Facebook but it's the reason I stopped using Instagram because it seemed like every picture was of what people had for lunch. Pinterest is the same but at least that way I get to "unfollow" the food boards.
Even my brother who is a bachelor has started "sharing" food pictures on facebook! Ugh! He's not even a sweets person, but when I asked him about it, he says he never knows when he might want to cook something, and now he has it "saved." I think he's trying to impress women who might look at his page!
