Default Day 3 of induction...

So far induction has been great! Not easy, Its a total mental game...I found myself accidently reaching for fruit in the fridge or picking up someones chex mix, lol

I did go out last with a girlfriend which I never do. I had 3/4 of a vodka and diet coke..which wasnt very appealing. But I heard vodka has very little carbs or no carbs and I know the effects is that my body will burn the alcohol first, which I accepted and was fine with. I hardly drink so going further alcohol will not be a problem. Everyone got Chinese food and didn't even dream of touching it. Was such a good girl, lol

I woke up this morning with a definite ketosis taste in my mouth. Hoped on the scale and according to it on Day 3 I'm down 4.6lbs!!! Which is seriously motivating, BUT I got so shaky, like hypoglycemic..maybe not as bad...And I had a 1/2 piece of lower carb bread 6 net carbs...didn't know what else to do. I do feel a bit better. I'll just make sure I will be extra careful with what I eat

Anyone had experience with this and good alternative for the shakes??

Good job on the 4.6 lbs and staying away from that Chinese food!!
As for the shaky feeling. the best way to handle that is with protein. Protein will ease the feeling and keep your blood sugar stable rather than cause a spike and then a crash & burn.
I hope this helps.
Keep up the good work! You CAN do this!!
All the best to you!!

my random blood sugars where 100-160 before I started low-carb, had blood sugars in the 90s and was little foggy/off feeling....now I'm jutting around mid-80 without a problem!! Now I know when I have too many carbs/sugar, I get a high. Weird, I know...

I drink...I love the flavored vodkas and diet juice/pop. My 2 favorites are diet cranberry lemonade and lemon sorbet vodka.....then mojoitos, light pre-mix. Both are just lovely over ice in a tall glass.

At the risk of sounding like a killjoy....Diet Coke and alcohol are no-no's on Atkins Induction. Alcohol can be added during OWL following the appropriate rungs of the carb ladder. Diet soft drinks should be avoided completely. I know that isn't very happy news....but....believe me, your body will thank you for staying away from evil things!

Well, Kim don't be a killjoy! Im teasing I don't drink alcohol very often and soda NEVER. So it was a very small drink (soda was flat anyways) very hard to drink. Going forward I promise I will be better
